The University of Michigan men's basketball team (4-0) opens its third week of play when it hosts Toledo (3-2) on Wednesday (Dec. 9) at Crisler Center. The game was originally scheduled to be against North Carolina State, but was postponed due to COVID-19 related concerns within the Wolfpack program.
The Rockets were announced as a replacement opponent on Tuesday (Dec. 7). Wednesday's game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tipoff on FS1 with Vince Welch (p-by-p) and Greg Kelser (analyst) as the broadcast crew.

Sudden Change
• Michigan announced Monday (Dec. 7) its ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup against N.C. State scheduled for Wednesday (Dec. 9) was postponed due to COVID-19 related concerns within the Wolfpack program.
• The U-M postponement marked the second consecutive N.C. State game paused. The Wolfpack were to face Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun's "Bubbleville" last Saturday (Dec. 5), but that game was delayed due to positive COVID-19 tests.
• Michigan has continued to follow the Big Ten Conference protocols and remains healthy with no current COVID-related issues.
Who are the Toledo Rockets?
• Toledo comes to Ann Arbor with a 3-2 overall record, having recorded victories over Oakland, Cleveland State and Eastern Michigan along with setbacks against Bradley and Xavier. Toledo's losses have come by a combined five points.
• Four players are scoring in double figures for the Rockets, led by Marreon Jackson (16.0 ppg), Setric Millner Jr. (15.8 ppg), Ryan Rollins (15.0 ppg) and Spencer Littleson (12.8 ppg).
• Toledo is shooting 40.9 percent (56-for-137) from three-point range, which ranks 28th nationally. Spencer Littleson (18-for-37) leads the Rockets at 48.6 percent.
• Head coach Tod Kowalczyk is in his 11th season at Toledo and is the longest tenured head coach in the Mid-American Conference. Kowalczyk came to Toledo after eight seasons as the head coach at Green Bay.
The Series with Toledo
• Michigan leads, 13-8, in the all-time series against Toledo. Wednesday night's game will be the first meeting between the teams since 1983 (37 years) -- a 55-52 victory on Nov. 26, 1983 at Crisler Center.• U-M holds a 5-2 advantage all-time against Toledo at home.
• Toledo hosted 11 of the first 12 meetings between the two schools from 1919-70, while U-M has hosted six of the last eight contests between 1971-83.
• Michigan and Toledo have met once in the postseason, an 80-68 U-M victory on March 15, 1981, in the second round of the NIT.
• Over the past few years, Michigan and Toledo have shared hosting duties for preseason closed scrimmages at Crisler Center and Savage Hall.
Dickinson Named Big Ten's Freshman of the Week
• Providing a much-needed spark off the bench, Hunter Dickinson earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors after back-to-back double-figure performances. He averaged 13.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and one block per game while shooting 73.3 percent (11-for-15) against Ball State and Central Florida.
• Dickinson recorded his first career double-double (12 points, career-best 11 rebounds) against Ball State and followed that with 14 points (6-for-6 shooting, 2-for-2 on free throws) and seven boards against UCF. In that game, he helped the Wolverines to a come-from-behind win that featured the U-M second team scoring 49 of the team's 80 points.
A Blistering Pace
• U-M is shooting 51.4 percent (127-for-247) from the field.
• The Wolverines are led by 70.0 percent shooting (21-for-30) from Hunter Dickinson.
• Isaiah Livers is shooting 54.3 percent (25-for-46) from the field, while Franz Wagner is at a 51.9 percent (14-for-27) and Brandon Johns Jr. is at 58.3 percent (7-for-12).
• Despite the season being only four games old, nine Wolverines are shooting better than 44 percent from the field.
Statistics Class
• Michigan is averaging 85.2 points per game after posting 80 points or more in all four games this season.• U-M has posted four straight games of 40 rebounds or more and are averaging 43.5 per game, grabbing 44 against Bowling Green, 45 against Oakland, 41 against Ball State and 44 against Central Florida.
• U-M has recorded four straight games of scoring 38 points or more in the paint, with three games of 42.
• Michigan posted back-to-back games with 20 assists or more against Bowling Green (23) and Oakland (24), averaging 19.3 per game. Last season, U-M had four total 20-plus-assist games. In 2018-19, U-M had five total, including the last time the Wolverines had two straight against Iowa (24) and Minnesota (21) in the 2019 Big Ten Tournament.
• The Maize and Blue has three double-figure scorers -- Isaiah Livers (16.3), Hunter Dickinson (14.0) and Chaundee Brown Jr. (12.8).
• Dickinson has scored in double figures in all four games with a career-best 19 against Oakland.
• Dickinson and Franz Wagner are tied atop the Wolverines' rebound list with 7.5 rebounds per game. The duo makes up the only Wolverines to hit for double figures in rebounding -- Wagner 13 (Oakland, Nov. 29) and Dickinson 11 (Ball State, Dec. 2).
• Mike Smith (19, 4.8 apg) and Eli Brooks (17, 4.3 apg) have combined to post 36 of U-M's 77 assists.
• Brown (44.0 percent) leads U-M with 11 three-point field goals, while Livers (43.5 percent) is just behind with 10.
