The University of Michigan men's basketball team (15-9, 6-7 B1G) will close out its week of Big Ten Conference play by hosting Indiana at Crisler Center on Sunday (Feb. 16). The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. tipoff on CBS with Tom McCarthy (p-by-p) and Dan Bonner (analyst) as the broadcast crew.
What You Need to Know for Sunday's Game
• Sunday's game is the only regular-season meeting between Michigan and Indiana.
• Sunday's game is Michigan's annual alumni reunion. Nearly 150 former players, staff and managers are expected to return and will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
• After a four-game losing streak, the Wolverines have won four of their last five games with the lone loss a narrow three-point (61-58) setback to Ohio State.
• Michigan is listed 28th in the NCAA Net rating system. With the Big Ten's overall strength this season and U-M's challenging non-conference slate, the Wolverines schedule continues to be listed as one of the best in the nation -- 4th (KenPom), 4th (ESPN's BPI) and 5th (Sagarin).
• With Michigan's 79-54 win at Northwestern (Feb. 12), Zavier Simpson and Jon Teske recorded their 104th career win, tying U-M's all-time record held by Glen Rice (1986-89), J.P. Oosterbann (1986-89), Mark Hughes (1986-89) and Jordan Morgan (2011-14).
• Simpson is second in the nation for total assists (185) and per game average (8.0).
• With five assists at Northwestern (Feb. 12), Simpson raised his career assist total to 616. He is second at U-M all-time, trailing only record-holder Gary Grant (731).
• Simpson is 27 points away from reaching 1,000 for his career. If he grabs 57 rebounds he would reach the 500 plateau. Adding his 616 assists, he has a chance to become the first Wolverine to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists.
• Simpson is expected to play in his 140th career game against Indiana (Feb. 16). That would put him just four games away from tying the all-time U-M record of 144 held by former teammate Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman. Meanwhile, Jon Teske has played in 102 consecutive games for the Wolverines and has 122 career games under his belt.
• Teske is second on U-M in scoring (12.6); however, he leads in rebounding (7.6) and blocks (43, 1.9) and is tied for the steals lead (25, 1.0). This season, Teske has at least one block in 22 of his 24 games.
• Over his last three games, Teske has gone just 6-for-29 (20.6%) from the field; however, he has made up for it with 22 rebounds (7.3 rpg), five assists and four blocks.
• With Teske finding bad luck at the rim, post mate Austin Davis has shot 15-for-16 from the field (93.8%) over his last five games. During his stretch he has gone 4-for-4 vs. Rutgers (Feb. 1), vs. Ohio State (Feb. 4) and at Northwestern (Feb. 12).
• Isaiah Livers returned against Michigan State (Feb. 8) after missing a total of nine games due to a groin/hip area injury. Helping the Wolverines snap a four-game slide to the Spartans as well as a three-game home slide, Livers finished with 14 points, four rebounds, two blocks, an assist and a steal in 31 minutes. He continues to lead U-M with 13.4 points per game as he notched his second straight double-digit performance, scoring 17 at Northwestern (Feb. 12).
• Austin "Big Country" Davis continues to not only provide a presence down low for U-M, but he has also given efficient production. In his last five games, he has averaged 7.0 points, 2.8 rebounds. In fact, during this stretch, the senior posted his first career double-figure game with 11 against Ohio State (Feb. 1).
• Before Livers return from injury, Brandon Johns Jr. started nine games, averaging 10.1 points and 4.2 rebounds. He drained 12 of his 15 three-pointers and recorded a career-best 20 points vs. Rutgers in the B1G Super Saturday game at MSG.
• With 17 points at Northwestern (Feb. 12), Eli Brooks posted his 12th double-figure scoring game of the season. Twelve of his 17 points came from beyond the arc as he drained four three-pointers for the Maize and Blue against the Wildcats.
• Livers has missed just two free throws the entire season as he leads U-M at 93.5 percent (29-for-31). In fact, he is 21-for-21 in his last seven games. U-M is shooting 71.7 percent.
• With seven three-point field goals at Northwestern (Feb. 12), U-M surpassed 200 made for the 13th straight season. U-M has 202 total, led by Eli Brooks' 47. Nearly 40 percent of the Wolverine offense comes via the long-distance shot.
Who are the Indiana Hoosiers?
• Indiana has a 16-8 overall record, including a 6-7 mark in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers hosted Iowa on Thursday (Feb. 13) and won, 89-77. Indiana has gone 1-5 on the road this season -- all in Big Ten play.
• Three players are scoring in double figures for Indiana, led by 14.0 points per game from freshman forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, who is also the leading rebounder for the Hoosiers at 8.0 boards per contest. Junior forward Justin Smith adds 11.1 points per game, while senior guard Devonte Green is scoring 11.0 points per contest and leads IU with 41 three-pointers.
• Junior guard Aljami Durham leads the Hoosiers with 62 assists (2.6 apg in 24 games) and averages 9.6 points per game. Backcourt mate and sophomore guard Rob Phinisee has 61 assists (3.2 apg, 19 games) and averages 7.3 points per game.
• Indiana is outrebounding its opponents by +7.5 boards per game, third-best in the Big Ten and 12th nationally.
• The Hoosiers lead the Big Ten in free throw attempts, having taken 573 shots from the charity stripe, which also ranks 39th nationally. Jackson-Davis has attempted a team-high 138 free throws and is shooting 71.7 percent from the line.
• Archie Miller is in his third season as head coach at Indiana. Miller joined the Hoosiers following six seasons as head coach at Dayton (2012-17), where he took the Flyers to the NCAA Tournament four times.
The All-Time Series with Indiana
• Sunday's game will be the 170th all-time meeting between Michigan and Indiana.
• U-M trails in the all-time series, 63-106. However, recently U-M has won the last six meetings. The Wolverines have a 47-38 record in Ann Arbor, with the Wolverines on a current three-game winning streak. U-M is 14-66 record in Bloomington, as U-M has won the last two at Assembly Hall. U-M is 2-2 record in neutral site games -- with one being the 1974 Big Ten playoff game at Illinois' Assembly Hall, one in the 1976 national title game and the remaining two in the Big Ten Tournament.
• Michigan has 10 games (3-7) against Indiana vacated by the Wolverines due to NCAA Sanctions -- giving U-M a recognized 60-99 all-time record.
• There have been 27 games when both Michigan and Indiana were ranked among the nation's top 25. U-M trails, 10-17. The last time was a 74-63 win by No. 2 Michigan over No. 21 Indiana at Crisler Center on Jan. 6, 2019.
• There have been 43 games decided by three or fewer points, with U-M having a 16-27 record in those contests. The last time was a thrilling last-second win by U-M at the Big Ten Tournament. With the score tied at 69-69, U-M's Kam Chatman made a corner three-pointer as time expired and the Wolverines knocked off the No. 1-seeded Hoosiers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
• There have been eight overtime games in the all-time series, with the teams tied 4-4 in those games. The last overtime game was a 72-66 overtime victory by U-M on Jan. 7, 2009, at Assembly Hall. There have been seven OT games and one 2OT game.
• Longest U-M win streak: six games (March 11, 2016 to Jan. 25, 2019, still active).
• Longest U-M losing streak: 11 games (Feb. 11, 2001 to Jan. 8, 2008)

• With U-M's win at Northwestern (Feb. 12), Zavier Simpson and Jon Teske won their 104th career game in their four seasons in Ann Arbor, tying U-M's all-time record of 104 wins held by Glen Rice (1986-89), J.P. Oosterbann (1986-89), Mark Hughes (1986-89) and Jordan Morgan (2011-14).
• For record keeping, if a player redshirts or transfers in, U-M does not count that season's record towards a player's career. Austin Davis redshirted his freshman season, so he is listed with 78 wins.
• In total, nine Wolverines have won 100 games in their careers. In addition to those Wolverines listed above, the remaining three are Gary Grant (1985-88), Steve Stoyko (1985-88) and Rob Pelinka (1989, 91-93), who each have 100 victories to their credit.
• Simpson and Teske have three straight NCAA Sweet 16 appearances, including a 2018 Final Four and national title game visit. They were part of back-to-back Big Ten Tournament titles (2017, '18) as well as three straight Big Ten Tournament championship game appearances. Overall, the duo has helped U-M produce two of its five 30-win seasons in U-M history, including a program-best 33 wins in 2018.
