The recently crowned Big Ten Tournament Champion and No. 9-ranked University of Michigan women's soccer team (15-3-3) will play host to Bowling Green (11-6-3) on Friday (Nov. 12) at 6 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Michigan, a top-eight national seed for the first time in program history, earned a No. 2 two seed in the 64-team tournament. The match will be streamed live on B1G+.
Tickets for Friday's match can be purchased online at MGoBlue.com/tickets, by phone (734-764-0247 or 1-866-296-6849) or in person at the U-M Ticket Office (1000 S. State St.). Tickets are priced at $8 for reserved seats, $6 for general admission and $3 for students. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for $3 each.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan is coming off its first Big Ten Tournament title since 1999 and sports a 15-3-3 record. The 15 wins mark the seventh time in program history the Wolverines have reached the 15-win plateau.
• U-M's NCAA Tournament berth is the 15th in program history, and U-M is 11-1 all-time in NCAA Tournament matches contested at home. The Wolverines also boast an impressive 9-1-1 record at U-M Soccer Stadium this season.
• Michigan is ranked No. 9 in the latest edition (Nov. 9) of the United Soccer Coaches poll, its highest ranking since the 2013 season.
• U-M is outshooting opponents 416-212 and outscoring teams 38-17. The Wolverines rank No. 7 in the NCAA in shots (19.71/match) and are 14-2-2 on the year when outshooting teams.
• Senior Raleigh Loughman leads the Michigan in all three major offensive categories with a career-high nine goals, seven assists and and 25 points. The All-Big Ten first team honoree has a goal in four of her last five contests and boasts nine points during that span. In addition, six of her nine goals have been match winners, a number that ranks fifth in the country.
• With two assists in U-M's victory over Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals, senior Sarah Stratigakis marked the 28th assist of her career to move into third place on the programs all-time list. U-M is 21-1-1 since 2019 in matches that she has recorded at least one point.
• The Wolverines are 11-0-1 when leading at halftime, 11-1-1 when scoring the first goal in a contest, and 12-2-3 against unranked opponents on the season.

Bowling Green
All-time series against the Falcons: Michigan leads 4-0-0
Bowling Green enters the opening round of the NCAA Tournament with an 11-6-3 overall record. The Falcons won the Mid-American Conference regular-season and tournament championships, going 8-2-1 in conference play, and defeated Buffalo (1-0) and Kent State (3-0) to win the postseason tournament title. BGSU ranks second in the MAC in scoring offense (1.75 goals per game) and total goals (35). Forward Madi Wolfbauer leads the conference in game-winning goals, ranking 15th nationally.
Michigan is 4-0 all-time against Bowling Green. They most recently met on Aug. 22, when U-M took home a 2-1 victory as a result of a Falcon own-goal and a game-winner by Nicki Hernandez. This upcoming match will be the second time that Michigan has faced Bowling Green in the NCAA Tournament. On Nov. 15, 2019, Michigan earned a 2-1 win over the Falcons in the tournament's first round. Hernandez played a key role in that victory as well, assisting the Wolverine's first goal and scoring the game-winner herself in the 79th minute.
