The No. 7-ranked University of Michigan ice hockey team (11-7-0, 9-7-0-1 Big Ten) looks to keep racking up league points as the Wolverines hit the final stretch of the regular season with the Big Ten Tournament just one month away. U-M will begin its march to the postseason on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 19-20) when its takes on Ohio State (5-14-1, 5-13-0-0 Big Ten) at Value City Arena. Both games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. puck drops and will be streamed live on Big Ten Network Plus.

Things to Know
• Michigan is 6-2 since the turn of the calendar to 2021, with both losses being decided by one goal each. Over those eight games, the Wolverines have outscored their opponents, 35-11.
• Michigan returned from a two-week activities pause to claim a 5-1 win over No. 7 Wisconsin on Saturday (Feb. 13). Down 1-0, Michigan tallied four goals in the second period and added a late goal in the third. Cam York had a three-assist game, while Luke Morgan had a goal and an assist and Erik Portillo made 29 saves. On Sunday (Feb. 14), the Wolverines dropped a 3-2 decision.
• Cam York was named the Big Ten Hockey Second Star of the Week on Tuesday (Feb. 16) after a four-point weekend and helping to hold the Badgers to just four goals on the weekend.
• Michigan has split goaltending duties the last three weekends with Strauss Mann and Erik Portillo seeing timw between the pipes.
• Four freshman sit atop the Michigan scoring chart, led by Thomas Bordeleau who has 21 points on five goals and 16 assists. He ranks fourth in the nation in points per game, at 1.31 ppg. Kent Johnson has 20 points (6G, 14A). Brendan Brisson (7G, 7A) and Matty Beniers (5G, 9A) follow with 14 points, along with sophomore defenseman Cam York (3G, 11A).
• Michigan's high-flying offense averages 3.61 goals per game (10th nationally) while the defense has limited opponents to just 2.06 gpg (ninth nationally).
• On special teams, the Wolverines' power play ranks fifth nationally, converting 13 of 50 for 26 percent.
Getting the Know the Buckeyes
• Ohio State is 5-14-1 overall this season with a 5-13-0-0 record (16 points, sixth place) in the Big Ten standings. The Buckeyes are looking to snap a five-game winless skid. OSU was idle last weekend after a series with Penn State was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns in the Nittany Lions program.
• Freshman Travis Treloar leads the offense with 16 points tallying a team-high six goals and 10 assists. Sophomore Mark Cheremeta has 10 assists and adds four goals for 14 points. Junior Quinn Preson and sophomore Tate Singleton both have six goals apiece and are both in double digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
• Tommy Napier has started in goal in all but two games and has a 5-12-1 record. He has a .908 save percentage and a 3.17 goals-against average.
• OSU averages 2.05 goals per game (43rd) while allowing 3.60 (40th). The Buckeyes power play ranks 24th nationally at 19.4 percent (13-for-67), while the penalty kill is 39th at 77 percent (57-for-74).
