
Wolverines Hit the Road to Face the Hoosiers in Big Ten Saturday Matinee

The third-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team (17-1, 12-1 Big Ten) has a quick turnaround as the Wolverines head to Bloomington, Ind., to take on Indiana on Saturday (Feb. 27) at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The matchup is the only one of the regular season between the teams after the scheduled game in Ann Arbor (Jan. 30) was postponed due to U-M's athletic department pause and not rescheduled. The game is scheduled for a noon tipoff on Fox with Gus Johnson (play-by-play) and Bill Raftery (analyst) on the call.

Who are the Indiana Hoosiers?
• After its second win over Iowa and a thrilling double-OT win against Northwestern, Indiana (12-11, 7-9 Big Ten) will host the Wolverines having dropped three of the next four games, with the latest a 74-70 loss at Rutgers (Jan. 24). IU is 6-5 at home this season.
• Indiana has compiled five overtime games this season and a 2-3 record in those. IU lost in OT at No. 20 Florida State (69-67), won in OT against Penn State (87-85), lost in 2OT at No. 8 Wisconsin (80-73), lost in OT to No. 12 Illinois (75-71) and had a 2OT win against Northwestern (79-76). The Hoosiers are outscoring their opponents by +2.2.
• Indiana starts and stops with sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, who leads the Hoosiers with 20.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and 34 blocks (1.5 bpg) and is shooting 53.2 percent from the field. He has nearly 200 trips to the free throw line (132-for-198, 66.7%), as he has a third of IU's total trips. Interestingly, he has yet to take a three-pointer this season.
• Redshirt junior forward Race Thompson gives IU a second down-low presence as he is posting 9.6 points and 6.5 rebounds, is second with 28 blocks, and leads with 25 steals.
• Combined Jackson-Davis (198) and Thompson (103) account for 54 percent of IU's free throw attempts. Overall, IU averages 23.8 trips per game, with 15.8 makes per game.
• Sophomore guard Armaan Franklin (11.6 ppg) and senior guard Ajami Durham (11.5 ppg) help give IU three Hoosiers averaging in double figures. The duo has combined for 70 of IU's 145 total three-pointers (Franklin 36, Durham 34).

• Michigan trails in the all-time series with Indiana, 64-106. U-M holds a 48-38 record in Ann Arbor, including winning nine of the last 12 at Crisler Center, including the last four straight. U-M has a 14-66 record in games in Bloomington; however, the Wolverines have won the last two at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. • Michigan has won its last six games, including road wins at Purdue (70-53), at No. 21 Wisconsin (67-59) and at No. 4 Ohio State (92-87). U-M is 5-1 on the road -- all Big Ten games.
• Hunter Dickinson was awarded his seventh Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor this week, tying the U-M record of Trey Burke for most in a single season. Burke earned seven honors during the 2011-12 season and went on to be named the Big Ten's Freshman of the Year. Burke was named the National Player of the Year in 2013, leading the Wolverines to the Final Four and national title game vs. Louisville.
• Dickinson continues to lead U-M in scoring (14.9), rebounding (7.8), blocks (30, 1.7) and field goal percentage (62.6%). He has 15 double-figure scoring games with four 20+.
• Isaiah Livers has continued to become an all-around threat and is averaging 14.4 points per game, as he has a team-best five 20+ point games. He is 54 points away from reaching 1,000 career points (946). He also is averaging career-bests in rebounding (5.9) and assists (2.4; 41 total). Livers has 10 games of three assists or more with a career-best four assists twice -- at Nebraska (Dec. 25) and at Ohio State (Feb. 21). He has 14 games of five rebounds or more, including a career-high-tying 10 at Purdue (Jan. 22).
• Mike Smith continues to lead the Big Ten (36th nationally) with 5.3 assists per game, dishing six assists or more in nine of his last 12 games. During that stretch, he posted a career-best 10 helpers at Minnesota (Jan. 16) -- the first double-digit performance of his collegiate career. Smith (489) needs 11 assists to reach 500 in his collegiate career.
• Smith also leads U-M in three-point shooting (46.5 percent) after he started 1-for-9 to begin the season. Since then, he has gone 19-for-34 (55.8 percent), making at least one three-pointer in 13 of his last 14 games.
• With a win at Indiana, Isaiah Livers, Eli Brooks, Austin Davis, C.J. Baird, Luke Wilson and Rico Ozuna-Harrison will have won their 100th career game at Michigan. There have been only 10 other Wolverines to reach the century mark -- with the all-time record of 108 held by Zavier Simpson and Jon Teske.
