ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan softball program, in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference, announced its 2021 schedule on Tuesday (Feb. 9). The conference-only slate consists of 44 games, including 16 at home, and features at least two matchups against every Big Ten team.
All Big Ten teams will kick off the 2021 slate with two weekends at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex in Leesburg, Fla. U-M will play doubleheaders against Purdue, Iowa and Illinois over its opening weekend (Feb. 26-28) and, after a weekend off, will return with three-game series against Nebraska and Wisconsin (March 11-14).
The on-campus portion of the regular season opens the weekend of March 26-28 with Michigan on the road at Indiana. U-M also will face Ohio State (April 9-11), Penn State (April 30-May 2) and Minnesota (May 7-9) on the road while hosting Michigan State (April 2-4), Maryland (April 16-18), Northwestern (April 23-25) and Rutgers (May 14-16) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field. All regular weekend series will consist of four games over three days.
There will be no Big Ten Tournament in 2021. Michigan remains the reigning tournament champion after sweeping the regular-season and tournament crowns in 2019.
Times for all games are to be announced. There is no public access to U-M events due to Big Ten policy currently in effect. Please check MGoBlue.com for further broadcast and coverage information.
