The University of Michigan volleyball team (2-3, 2-3 B1G) will return to action after two weekends off to host the Indiana Hoosiers (3-11, 3-11 B1G) on Friday and Saturday (March 12-13) in Cliff Keen Arena. Both contests will be streamed on Big Ten Network Plus, starting Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.
Wolverine Bites
• Junior Paige Jones leads the team in kills per set (3.82), ranking fourth in the conference. She is joined in the top 10 in the category by freshman Jess Mruzik (3.55), who comes in at No. 9. Jones is also No. 4 in attacks per set (10.91) and Mruzik is fifth (10.64).
• In hitting percentage, sophomore Jess Robinson ranks fourth in the league (.419), while junior Kayla Bair is ninth (.365). Redshirt freshman Hannah Grant checks in at No. 4 in the league in digs per set (4.14), while Jones is also past the 50-dig plateau with 57 (2.59/set).
• In team rankings, U-M leads the Big Ten and ranks No. 21 nationally in assists per set (13.27). The Wolverines are No. 14 nationally and second in the conference with 14.41 kills per set. Michigan also leads the league in attacks per set (38.41), a number that is good for 34th nationally.
• Freshman Brooke Humphrey is the long Wolverine that hails from the Hoosier State. Her hometown is Lafayette, Ind., and she attended McCutcheon High School.
• After missing the Maryland series due to contact tracing protocol, both head coach Mark Rosen and associate head coach Leisa Rosen will be available to coach. As a team, U-M missed the last two weekends of competition due a team-wide COVID-19 pause.

The Hoosiers carry a 3-11 overall mark and are coming off a series split against the Maryland Terrapins on March 5-6. IU is led by Tommi Stockham with 152 kills (3.10/set) and Breana Edwards with 126 kills (2.74/set). Brooke Westbeld paces the team in assists with 245 (5.00/set). Defensively, Haley Armstrong is averaging 3.33 digs/set and boasts 163 total digs on the campaign, and Savannah Kjolhede has 39 blocks. IU is 1-7 over its last eight matches and has a 21-4 record in sets over that span.
