Friday's semifinal session will be broadcast live on ESPN2, while Saturday's championship will be broadcast live on ABC.
Session and Rotation Information
• Michigan will compete in the first semifinal session along with California, Florida and Big Ten foe Minnesota, while Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma and Utah will compete in the second semifinal session Friday evening.
• The top two teams from each session will advance to the team final Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CDT on ABC.
• Michigan will begin on the balance beam and head to floor exercise in the second rotation. The Wolverines will be on the vault in the third rotation and finish the night on the uneven bars.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan will make its 25th NCAA Championships appearance and 24th under head coach Bev Plocki. The Wolverines will return to the NCAA Championship after the 2020 season was ended early due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• U-M will look to advance to the finals in the new format for the first time after placing third in the 2019 semifinal. The Wolverines finished the 2021 regular season ranked second nationally, behind only Oklahoma.
• Michigan has finished as high as second at the NCAA Championships (1995, 1999) and finished fifth overall in 2019, U-M's highest finish since 2006.
• The Wolverines program has had five gymnasts earn nine individual national championships, the last coming in 2019 when then-freshman Natalie Wojcik won the beam title with a .9.950. Prior to Wojcik, Joanna Sampson won the floor title in 2013, Beth Wymer and Elise Ray each won three NCAA titles, and Kylee Botterman won the all-around in 2011.
• U-M has 49 individuals who have combined for 185 All-America honors. Wojcik is the only current Wolverine to earn All-America accolades as she notched a first-team citation on the balance beam and second team in the all-around.
• Michigan has just six gymnasts on its current roster that competed in the 2019 NCAA Championships semifinals and eight who will be making their first trip to the big stage this weekend in Fort Worth.
• The Wolverines won the Morgantown regional, breaking the 198 barrier for the third time this season as they tied a program-best 198.100. Michigan set its second event record of the season, scoring a program-high 49.725 on the uneven bars to top the previous record of 49.675 set at the 2016 NCAA Regionals.
• U-M swept all the event titles in Morgantown, W.Va., with sophomore Sierra Brooks and freshman Naomi Morrison sharing the vault title, and Brooks earning the balance beam title. Natalie Wojcik earned the uneven bars title and Gabby Wilson clinched the floor exercise title. Brooks also won the all-around crown.
• Wojcik earned WCGA Regional Gymnast of the Year honors for the second time in her career. The junior all-arounder led the northeast region in the all-around, balance beam and uneven bars, while ranking second on floor exercise and tying for third on the vault. Wojcik ranked in the top 10 nationally during the regular season in three events, including beam (fourth), bars (sixth) and all-around (sixth).
