
Sixteen Wolverines Named CRCA Scholar-Athletes

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Following the 2021 season that saw the University of Michigan rowing team defend its Big Ten Championship and place fourth in the NCAA, 16 Wolverines were honored by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) as Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday (June 9).
U-M's 16 scholar-athletes include: Paige Badenhorst (organizational studies, environment), Tayla-May Bentley (psychology, communications), Kate Burns (industrial and operations engineering), Grace Collins (Applied Exercise Science), Victoria Cooke (biology, health and society), Annaka Draaisma (movement science), Lilia Duncan (master's, health informatics), Julia Gehlert, (English), Annika Hoffmann (comparative literature, political science), Ember Larson (movement science), Lillian Mei (mechanical engineering), Darien Moses (business administration), Charlotte Powers (biopsychology, cognition, & neuroscience), Jeri Rhodes (communications and media), Ariana Shokoohi (biology, health & society), and Noa Sreden (economics, international studies, Middle East studies).
To earn CRCA Scholar-Athlete distinction, a student must be in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility, have a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average or higher for her career, and compete in a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races.
For Badenhorst and Hoffmann, this is their third CRCA scholastic recognition. Bentley, Burns and Mei are receiving their second such honor while another 11 Wolverines have earned it for the first time.
