ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team (1-0-1) will take on No. 24-ranked Duke (2-0-0) for the first time in the history of the two programs Thursday (Sept. 2) at U-M Soccer Stadium. First kick is set for 7 p.m.
Thursday's match also features Pups at the Pitch. Fans are invited to bring their pups to the game, and they receive free admission with a human ticket. Fans who wish to bring their dog must pre-register by Tuesday (Aug. 31) at 5 p.m. » More Information
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan opened the season with two double-overtime games, ending its season opener in a 1-1 tie with Detroit Mercy last Thursday (Aug. 26) and earning a 2-1 double-OT victory at Oakland on Sunday (Aug. 29).
• The Wolverines are outshooting their opponents 47-12 with 16 shots on goal for a .340 shots-on-goal percentage.
• Fifth-year senior Marc Ybarra was man of the match against Oakland as he scored the game-winning goal with just two seconds remaining in the second overtime period off a rebounds to lift U-M to its first victory of the 2021 season. The GWG was the fourth of his career.
• Senior Derick Broche and sophomore Quin Rogers netted a goal each in U-M's opening matches. Broche tallied his ninth career goal, while Rogers notched his first.
• Four newcomers saw their first game action as Wolverines with freshmen Jason Bucknor and Michael Leon earning starts in both games, while transfer Uriel Zeitz started against Detroit Mercy and freshmen Hayden Evans got the start in goal at Oakland.

Duke
Thursday will be the first meeting between the programs
Duke comes into Thursday's match with a 2-0 overall record, outscoring its opponents 7-0 to open the season. The Blue Devils earned a 3-0 win over Liberty (Aug. 27) and a 4-0 win over Merrimack (Aug. 29), and have outshot their opponents 41-9 through two games. Felix Barajas leads Duke with a two-goal outing against Merrimack, while two different keepers have split starts for the Blue Devils this season.
