The No. 18-ranked University of Michigan women's soccer team (7-1-1, 1-0-0 Big Ten) begins its first two-match conference week of the season, traveling to take on No. 9 Rutgers (6-2-0, 1-0-0 Big Ten) on Thursday (Sept. 23) at 7 p.m. in Piscataway, N.J. The week concludes on Sunday (Sept. 26) with the Wolverines hosting Wisconsin (6-1-2, 1-0-0 Big Ten) at noon at U-M Soccer Stadium. Thursday's match will be broadcast live in Big Ten Network, and Sunday's match will be streamed live on B1G+.
Wolverine Bites
• Through nine matches, U-M is outshooting opponents 213-70 and outscoring teams 18-5. The Wolverines rank No. 5 in the NCAA in shots (23.67/match) and lead the Big Ten in the category.
• Head coach Jennifer Klein recently inked a contract extension through the 2025 season. In her fourth season in charge, Klein boasts a record of 38-19-6 (.651) during her time in Ann Arbor
• Senior Nicki Hernandez is tied for fifth in the conference in goals (five), and ranks No. 2 in the conference in shots (4.56/match) and shots on goal (2/match). Her 12 points (1.33/match) rank No. 7 in the league. Classmate Raleigh Loughman is the other Wolverine in double-digit points, boasting three goals and four assists (10 points).

• U-M has conceded only five goals in the campaign, the fewest through nine matches since the 2013 season. Its goals-against average of .531 is No. 28 nationally and No. 4 in the Big Ten.
• Michigan is ranked No. 18 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll (Sept. 21) and checks in at No. 14 in the NCAA RPI rankings.
• U-M's roster contains one New Jersey native in junior Emily Leyson (Long Valley, N.J,/West Morris Central).

All-time series against the Scarlet Knights: Rutgers leads 3-2-2
Rutgers is ranked No. 9 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll with a 6-2-0 overall mark. In a battle of two of the top teams in the Big Ten, the Scarlet Knights defeated Penn State 2-1 on Sunday (Sept. 19). Losses have come against Princeton (Sept. 9) and Georgetown (Sept. 12).
The last meeting between the two programs was on April 3, 2021, a 1-1 double-overtime tie with the lone Michigan goal scored by Nicki Hernandez.
Wisconsin
All-time series against the Badgers: Wisconsin leads 15-13-7
The Badgers enter the week with a 7-1-2 overall mark and are ranked No. 15 in the NCAA RPI. The Badgers opened up Big Ten play with a 2-1 win over Minnesota on Saturday (Sept. 18) in Minneapolis. Most recently, the Badgers knocked off Michigan State by a 1-0 score in East Lansing on Thursday (Sept. 23).
The last meeting between the two programs was March 1 of last season, a contest that the Badgers took by a 1-0 score.
