• The Wolverines are ranked nationally at all 10 weights, boasting eight wrestlers in the top 10 at their respective weights and four in the top five. Graduate student Nick Suriano debuted at No. 1 in the InterMat rankings at 125 pounds this week, while graduate student Myles Amine and senior Mason Parris list No. 2 at 184 pounds and heavyweight, respectively.

184: No. 2 Myles Amine (U-M) vs. No. 5 John Poznanski (RU)
197: No. 8 Patrick Brucki (U-M) vs. No. 6 Greg Bulsak (RU)
• Graduate student Nick Suriano is 3-0 on the season with three bonus wins at 125 pounds. He went 2-0 in his Maize and Blue debut at Pittsburgh (Jan. 9), earning an 18-7 major decision over Pittsburgh's Gage Curry after rolling to a 19-2 technical fall in an extra match against Army's Jake Staud -- for a combined 37-9 point differential on the day -- and earned an 11-3 major decision against Ohio State's 18th-ranked Malik Heinselman. Suriano, who joined the Wolverine program as a grad transfer this semester, was the 2019 NCAA champion at 133 pounds while at Rutgers.
• Senior heavyweight Mason Parris improved to 7-0 on the season with a first-period fall against Ohio State's 12th-ranked Tate Orndorff. Parris, who also captured a Cleveland State Open title last month, also boasts bonus points in all seven appearances with three pins, a technical fall and three major decisions. Over his career at Michigan, bonus points have accompanied 71 percent of his wins (79) and 61 percent of his total matches (91).
• Graduate student Logan Massa rallied to beat Ohio State's seventh-ranked Ethan Smith 10-5, using a third-period takedown, a four-point bow and arrow and riding time to earn his first ranked win of the season. Massa scored a first-period fall against Pitt's Hunter Kernan (2:18) in his dual debut the week before for his 100th career win at Michigan. He is now to 101-24 over six collegiate seasons and became the 38th Michigan wrestler to achieve the milestone.
• Two more Wolverines are bearing down on the 100-win milestone. Graduate student Stevan Micic owns a 95-15 record, while graduate transfer Patrick Brucki, who spent his first three seasons at Princeton, is now 93-18 in his collegiate career. Last season, Myles Amine became the 37th Wolverine wrestler to reach 100 wins and now boasts a 111-21 record.
• Myles Amine picked up a 3-1 win in sudden victory over Ohio State's seventh-ranked Kaleb Romero to improve to 7-0 on the season. Amine made his debut at the MatMen Open (Dec. 29-30), posting a 4-0 record en route to the 184-pound title and the tournament's outstanding wrestler honors. He defeated a familiar foe in NCAA champion and former Penn State standout Mark Hall, 4-2, in the final, scoring the deciding points off a last-second takedown in the first period. It was Amine's first win over Hall; he went 0-5 against the Nittany Lion while both were in college -- all five matches were decided by a single point.
