Paul Juda (March 14)
Big Ten Gymnast of the Week -- Junior Paul Juda was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the second-straight week for his performance in U-M's team victory over No. 5 Illinois on Sunday (March 13). Juda took a trio of event titles, winning vault (14.85) and high bar (14.45). He also added a 13.85 on floor exercise, and 13.95's on pommel horse, still rings, and parallel bars en route to an all-around title win with a mark of 85.000. He now boasts the top-two all-around scores in the country this season with a mark of 86.100 vs. Army & William & Mary and the 85.000 against the Illini. In addition, his vault score of 14.85 is the fourth-highest score in the country. Juda was named the 2021 Big Ten Gymnast of the Year and this is his fifth Big Ten Gymnast of the Week accolade in just his second season. » Big Ten Release
Paul Juda (March 8)
Big Ten Gymnast of the Week -- Junior Paul Juda was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for his performance in U-M's team victory over No. 10 Army and No. 13 William & Mary on Saturday (March 5). Juda swept the meet, winning all seven event titles including the all-around against the Black Knights and Tribe. He notched a mark of 86.100 in the all-around, while his highest score on an individual event came on vault and parallel bars with matching 14.80 tallies. Juda was named the 2021 Big Ten Gymnast of the Year and this is his fourth Big Ten Gymnast of the Week accolade. » Big Ten Release
Evgeny Siminiuc (Jan. 31)
Big Ten Gymnast of the Week -- Sophomore Evgeny Siminiuc was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for his performance in U-M's victory over No. 3 Nebraska on Saturday (Jan. 29) at Cliff Keen Arena. Siminuc registered a pair of event titles on the only two events he competed on. He scored wins on parallel bars and high bar, scoring a 14.40 on high bar for a career high and a 14.30 on parallel bars. David Willett, David Wolma (Jan. 17)
Big Ten Gymnasts of the Week -- Junior David Willett and freshman David Wolma were named Big Ten Gymnasts of the Week for their performances in U-M's victory at the Windy City Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 15) in Chicago, Ill. Willett, named the Gymnast of the Week, won the Gary Morava Cup, presented to the meet's all-around winner with a score of 77.350 for his second all-around title of the season. He was led by a 13.650 on vault and a 13.100 on still rings. The honor is the first of Willett's career. Wolma took home Freshman of the Week accolades for the second time in as many meets. Nicholas Guy, David Wolma (Jan. 10)
Big Ten Gymnasts of the Week -- Senior Nicholas Guy and freshman David Wolma were each named Big Ten Gymnasts of the Week for their performances in U-M's victory over NIU (Jan. 8). Guy, named Gymnast of the Week, won a pair of event titles on floor exercise with a 13.40 and on vault with a 14.45. The win on floor was the second of his Wolverines career, and the vault victory was his fifth. Wolma took home Freshman of the Week accolades in his first meet as a Wolverine. He shared the event win with Guy on the table with a 14.45. The win gives him his first collegiate event title. The honor is the first of both Guy and Wolma in their respective careers. » Big Ten Release
Crew Bold, Evgeny Siminiuc (Jan. 4)
Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch -- Junior Crew Bold and sophomore Evgeny Siminiuc were named gymnasts to watch by the conference coaches. Bold, a transfer from Minnesota, earned a second team All-Big Ten honor a season ago, and took second in the conference championships on still rings. He was a 2021 Big Ten Gymnast to Watch and was a CGA regular season All-American on high bar. Siminiuc, the NCAA runner-up on parallel bars, boasted a season-high of 14.300 on the event, and broke the 14-point plateau on parallel bars five times. » Big Ten Release
Preseason Coaches Poll -- Michigan was the unanimous favorite, with Nebraska selected second followed by Penn State, Illinois and Ohio State. » Big Ten Release
