
Michigan Announces ’23 Schedule, New Weekday Ticket Policy

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team and head coach Tracy Smith announced the 2023 schedule on Friday (Dec. 23). The season will include 25 home games at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium.
Michigan will open its 2023 campaign on Feb. 17 in Arizona as part of the MLB Desert Invitational, where it last competed in 2020 when it was known as the MLB4 Tournament. The team will play a total of four games at the tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz., at Salt River Fields and Sloan Park. The following weekend, the Wolverines will head further west to take on three different teams in the Los Angeles area including a three-game series at Cal State Fullerton and one game against each UC Irvine and UCLA.
The Maize and Blue will then head to Houston on March 3 for three games in the Shriner's College Classic at Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros, against TCU. Texas Tech and Louisville in a rematch of the 2022 NCAA Regional Final.
After completing a 12-game tour of the western part of the country, the team will head back to Ann Arbor and is scheduled to face off with Oakland on March 8 for its home opener at the Wilpon Complex for the earliest home game in Michigan Baseball history.
Michigan will then head back down south to compete in the Mike Sansing Classic in Kennsaw, Ga., from March 10-12. Before playing again at home, the Wolverines will take on Xavier in Cincinnati on Wednesday, March 15.
After 17 of 18 contests away from home to start the season, Michigan will return to Ann Arbor for eight straight games, including a three-game series against Bradley, midweek games against Akron and Central Michigan and the opening of the Big Ten season on March 24 against Penn State.
Michigan will also host Nebraska, Michigan State and Northwestern in conference series during the season and will also welcome Oklahoma State to Ann Arbor for a weekend series (April 28-30). The home schedule features four more mid-week matchups as well with games against Butler, Toledo, Kent State and Xavier.
U-M will take Big Ten road trips to Illinois, Rutgers, Minnesota and Ohio State, and will seek to advance to the 2023 Big Ten Conference Tournament in Omaha, Neb., at TD Ameritrade Park (May 24-28).
New for the 2023 season, fans will receive free admission to all weekday (Monday-Thursday) games against non-conference opponents. Weekend games and all games against conference opponents will remain ticketed.
