ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 20-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team (3-2, 0-0 Big Ten) returns home to face Illinois (1-3, 0-0 Big Ten) on Friday (Feb. 11) at 5 p.m. inside the Varsity Tennis Center.
The first 50 fans at the Varsity Tennis Center will receive a free Michigan hat. There also will be three other enter-to-win prizes and a special appearance by Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara, who will make the ceremonial first serve.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan is 3-2 on the season with both losses to ranked opponents. The Wolverines are ranked No. 20 in the latest ITA national poll, released Feb. 2. [ Poll ]
• The Wolverines have won the doubles point in three of their five matches.
• The No. 36-ranked duo of Andrew Fenty and Nino Ehrenschneider have won their last three matches at No. 1 doubles and are 11-2 this year, which includes an 8-5 win over Illinois' Hunter Heck and Lucas Hovre in the fall.
• Jacob Bickersteth had a four-match win streak halted at Harvard on Sunday (Feb. 6) and now boasts a 4-1 record on the season, having played at No. 2 the last three matches.
• Michigan has just one loss each at Nos. 4-6 singles this season.
• Nick Beaty has won his last two singles matches.
• Gavin Young has the best win percentage on the team at (.778) with a 14-4 mark.

• Michigan holds a 65-44-2 advantage over Illinois in the all-time series.
• The first meeting occurred in 1970, resulting in a 7-2 Michigan win.

Scouting the Illini
• Illinois is 1-3 on the season and receiving votes in the latest ITA national poll.
• The Illini opened the dual season with a 4-0 non-conference loss to Ohio State (Jan. 22) before picking up their first win later that day vs. Chicago State.
• At the ITA Kick-Off, Illinois lost to both NC State and Oklahoma. Last season, Illinois won the Big Ten Tournament and posted a 23-3 overall record.
• Illinois lost four players to graduation last year, including Aleks Kovacevic (No. 1), Zeke Clark (No. 3) and Noe Khlif (No. 4). Siphosothando Montsi, Olivier Stuart and Hunter Heck look to lead the Illini this season.
