
Michigan to Welcome No. 11 Denver to U-M Lacrosse Stadium Sunday Afternoon

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 8-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team will play its first home game of 2022 at U-M Lacrosse Stadium Sunday (March 13) when it welcomes No. 11 Denver to town for a 1 p.m. contest.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan stayed at No. 8 in the IL/IWLCA rankings this week as it is 7-0 after a win at Central Michigan last weekend.
• Senior Kaitlyn Mead is one draw-control win away from 100 in her career. Mead would be the fifth Wolverine to reach 100 draw-control wins.
• Graduate student Arielle Weissman and Mead have been added to the 2022 Tewaaraton Award watch list. Weissman has earned her role as the starting goalie for Michigan, making 48 saves and carrying a .593 save percentage seven games into the 2022 season. Mead leads Michigan on the draw control with 26 wins through the first seven games of the season and is one of nine players with double-digit points. The Sparta, N.J., native has scored a team-high 13 goals with three hat tricks and has one assist for 14 points.
• Freshman Kaylee Dyer has made her presence known early and often in the 2022 season as she ranks second for the Wolverines with 18 points. Dyer has recorded nine goals, which ranks sixth overall for Michigan. She also has nine assists, which ranks second behind Caitlin Muir. The Elkins Park, Pa., native has six multi-point games this season with a career-best five points at Cincinnati. In the last two games, Dyer has had six total points with a goal and two assists in each.

Denver
Michigan and Denver are tied 1-1 in the all-time series
U-M and Denver will meet for the first time since the 2019 campaign when the two teams played both in the regular season and postseason. Michigan earned the 12-10 victory in the regular season, but it was the Pioneers who would end the Wolverines season with a 9-5 victory in the NCAA Regional final at U-M Lacrosse Stadium.
Denver is 6-1 overall on the season with its lone loss coming to No. 1 Boston College. The Pioneers are outscoring their opponents 82-44 and have a .703 shots-on-goal percentage. Bea Behrins and Lauren Black lead Denver with 26 and 20 points, respectively, while Julia Gilbert has tallied 15 points this season. In the cage, Emilia Bohi has made 34 saves and has a .442 save percentage.
