RALEIGH, N.C. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team debuted its distance squad for the first time this outdoor season on Thursday (March 24) as it kicked off the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State with the first of three days of competition.
Oli Raimond was the top finisher for the Michigan men on the day, as he finished 31st overall in 3:45.34 at 1,500 meters.
In a deep field with more than 200 finishers, Joost Plaetinck and Will Landowne were the top Michigan finishers at 5,000 meters in 14:25.75 and 14:26.89 for 83rd and 90th, respectively.
The Wolverines will continues competition Friday at 6:36 p.m. with the 3,000-meter steeplechase, to be followed later in the evening by the 10,000 meters. Saturday will feature both the final day of races at Raleigh as well as a full schedule of sprints, jumps and throws competition at the Miami Hurricane Collegiate Invitational.
