To open the month of April, the No. 4-ranked University of Michigan rowing team will travel to Columbus, Ohio, for the B1G-ACC Challenge featuring the host No. 9 Ohio State, No. 11 Virginia and No. 12 Duke.
The quartet of top-ranked teams will make for one of the premier events across the country this weekend. U-M is primarily racing Virginia in the morning and Duke in the afternoon, with Buckeye boats sprinkled into the 3V4 and novice races.
The teams will race a full championship lineup (two varsity eights, two varsity fours, two novice eights) across Griggs Reservoir. The single-day schedule calls for a morning and afternoon session. U-M is expected to have more than of 50 athletes competing altogether this weekend.
Races will be carried live via B1G+.
U-M is making the trip following a home weekend against Indiana. Originally scheduled for a set of Saturday races with the Hoosiers, the teams settled for a Friday evening scrimmage instead with bad weather lurking.
