ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- With just three weekends of regular-season competition remaining before the University of Michigan men's track and field team begins its postseason run, the Wolverines will send select members of the squad to Bloomington, Ind., this Friday and Saturday (April 22-23) for the Indiana Invitational.
Field athletes Cassidy Henshaw and Mason Mahacek and distance runner James Gedris will compete at the two-day competition, to be held at the same Haugh Track and Field Complex that will play host to the NCAA East Prelims in just over a month's time.
Gedris will be the lone competitor on the first day of competition, as he is entered to race the 5,000 meters at 8:45 p.m. ET.
The second day will begin for Michigan at approximately 3 p.m. with Henshaw in the long jump. The decathlete Mahacek is entered in three different throws – javelin, shot put and discus – that will be spread throughout the afternoon starting as early as 3 p.m., as well as the 400 meters at 5 p.m.
The full Michigan squad will reunite for one last regular-season road trip next Thursday through Saturday (April 28-30) for the Drake Relays.
Live results will be provided via Indiana. Updates will be posted to the official Michigan track and field social media channels throughout the weekend.
