
Michigan Quartet Selected to Participate in NCAA Individual Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Four University of Michigan men's tennis players earned NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships berths, the NCAA announced on Tuesday (May 3).
Ondrej Styler is one of 64 players chosen for the NCAA Singles Championship, with Andrew Fenty named an alternate. Styler and doubles partner Gavin Young, as well as Fenty and his doubles partner Nino Ehrenschneider, are two of 32 doubles teams that will compete for the NCAA Doubles Championship.
Michigan has had 24 doubles pairs selected to the NCAA Doubles Championship, with the last being Alex Knight and Runhao Hua in 2018. Styler and Young are ranked No. 28 in the ITA rankings with an 8-5 record. Fenty and Ehrenschneider (16-5 overall record) are ranked No. 36 with an identical 8-5 dual record.
Styler is the 27th Wolverine selected to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship. Ranked No. 30, Styler is 21-4 in singles, including a 17-3 record in dual play. The Big Ten Tournament MVP has gone 12-1 at No. 1 singles and is on a five-match win streak. A 2018 selection, Fenty is ranked No. 63 and owns a 12-9 record in singles play this year.
The singles and doubles competition will be held Monday through Saturday, May 23-28 at the University of Illinois after the conclusion of the team championships.
