Golder Inducted Into USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame

TAMPA, Fla. -- Longtime University of Michigan men's gymnastics head coach Kurt Golder was inducted into the 2022 USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame on Saturday (Aug. 20) in conjunction with the 2022 National Congress & Trade Show and U.S. Gymnastics Championships.
Golder retired before the 2022 season after 25 seasons in charge of the Wolverines program. He led the U-M to four NCAA championships (1999, 2010, 2013, 2014) and six Big Ten Conference titles.
Named the NCAA regional and national Coach of the Year in 1999, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2021, Golder produced 118 NCAA All-Americans, 17 NCAA individual national champions and 40 individual Big Ten champions.
He graduated from Michigan in 1977 with a degree from the School of Education after earning three letters in gymnastics and was a part of the Wolverines' 1975 Big Ten championship team. In 2008, Golder also was inducted into the Alpena (Mich.) High School Alumni Hall of Fame in 2001.
He is the third Wolverine to be named into the fraternity, joining Ed Gagier (1982) and Newt Loken (1971).
