Big Ten Championships: 2nd (174 points)
NCAA Championships: 10th (73 points)
The University of Michigan rowing program turned in another top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships in 2022, the team's eighth consecutive finish among the nation's 10 best. The team placed second in the Big Ten, scoring 174 points with gold medals in the 2V8 and 3V4.

Team Highlights
• Senior Day Sweep: U-M maintained its Senior Day tradition, rowing against Louisville during graduation weekend. The festivities included a post-race ceremony for 15 seniors, where the departing Wolverines were honored with their families. The team banquet followed that evening.
• B1G Runners-Up By a Nose: The Wolverines were in pursuit of their third straight Big Ten title this spring after winning in 2019 and '21. Michigan's lineup was competitive in every race, and the team had a chance to capture its third straight crown with a win in the 1V8. In the end, the Maize and Blue had to settle for a runner-up team finish.
• A Special Gift for Coach Rothstein: Following the team's races on Senior Day in May, head coach Mark Rothstein was presented with a memorable gift from boatman Jack Miles and student manager Connor Arrigan -- an oar, complete with the iconic Michigan wings and a list of the accomplishments of the U-M program under Rothstein's direction.
•Making an IMPACT: Following races against No. 1 Texas on April 9, the Wolverines welcomed a special addition to the program. Charlie Carino of Southfield, Mich., joined the roster in a special signing event through the Wolverines' partnership with Team IMPACT. Charlie maintains an active lifestyle while living with epilepsy, and the U-M rowing program was thrilled to welcome her to life in maize and blue.
Individual Highlights
• All-Big Ten Honors: By virtue of the team's second-place finish at the Big Ten Championships, the team was awarded four athletes on the All-Big Ten ballot. Grace Collins (first team) picked up her second career honor while fellow first-teamer Kate Burns was honored for the first time. Both Jessica Schoonbee and coxswain Charlotte Powers were also named to the second team, and both were first time conference honorees.
• Honored as America's Best: Burns, Collins (second team), Schoonbee and Abigail Dent (honorable mention) were all named to the Pocock Racing Shells All-America team following the season. All four athletes were key to U-M's 1V8 winning a silver medal at the Big Ten Championships and placing 11th in the nation.
• 2V8's Tight Finish Keeps Hopes Alive: The Wolverines held on by 0.388 seconds to win Big Ten gold and set up a pivotal 1V8 championship race to determine the conference champ. Heading into the final race, it was winner-take-all with just one point separating the top two challengers, Ohio State and Michigan. The Buckeyes prevailed in the final race, but it would have been far less dramatic had the U-M 2V8 not done its job and held off the Buckeyes in the penultimate race.
• Wolverines in International Waters: Gabrielle Graves was selected to represent the United States at the U-23 World Championships in August in Varese, Italy (July 25-30). For Team Canada, Dent and rising freshman Jana Peachey were part of the Canadian 8+ while fellow incoming freshman Leah Miller rowed with Canada's JW2x.
