
Sim, Flynn Win Multiple Events as Wolverines Fall to Buckeyes on Senior Day

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Letitia Sim and Lindsay Flynn won multiple individual events on Saturday (Jan. 21), but the No. 16-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team fell to No. 5 Ohio State, 186.5-113.5, on senior day at Canham Natatorium.
Sim finished with three first-place finishes in individual events on the day. She nabbed the first first-place finish of the meet for the Wolverines in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.41. Sim then out-touched the Buckeyes two more times, once in the 200-yard breaststroke and again in the 200-yard IM.
In the splash and dash of the 50-yard freestyle, Flynn out-touched a Buckeye for the first-place finish, swimming a 22.46. She got her second first-place finish of the meet in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.95.
The quartet of Sim, Casey Chung, Natalie Kan and Brady Kendall kicked off senior day for the Wolverines in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:39.93, finishing third.
Katie Crom swam her way to a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:56.25. Christey Liang and Riley Francis touched the wall second and third, respectively, in the 200-yard freestyle to grab big points for the Wolverines.
Noelle Kaufmann battled her way to a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.16. Crom then grabbed her second second-place finish of the day with a time of 1:58.96 in the 200-yard butterfly, while Mariella Venter finished third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.59.
Francis picked up her second third-place finish of the meet in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.13. In the 100-yard butterfly, Kendall touched the wall third with a time of 54.36.
In the last event of the day, the team of Flynn, Kendall, Claire Newman and Liang finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:18.44.
On the diving side, Kiarra Milligan finished second with a season-best score of 317.85 in the 3-meter springboard competition. In the 1-meter springboard competition, Lucy Hogan finished second with a score of 278.63 and Chrismon Clark finished third with a score of 271.95.
The Wolverines will return to the pool on Saturday (Jan. 28) at 10 a.m. when Michigan hosts Wisconsin and Pittsburgh in Canham Natatorium.
