SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team kicked off the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational on Friday (Feb. 3) at the Loftus Sports Center with senior Amber Gall the Wolverines' lone competitor on the day.
Gall represented in the 600-meter run and placed 15th in a time of 1:33.4, falling just shy of her career-best 1:32.69 set at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on Jan. 21.
Her result will be built upon by a strong group of distance runners on Saturday (Feb. 4). Sam Tran, Kayla Windemuller and Samantha Saenz look to be top challengers in a competitive mile contest, while Aurora Rynda seeks a strong finish in the 800 meters. She is Michigan's indoor school record-holder in the event.
The Wolverines will be back in action Saturday for day two of the Meyo Invitational starting at 10 a.m. Mia Manson and Cate Visscher will get things going for Michigan in the pole vault at noon.
