
Trio Earns First Team All-America Honors to Close out 2023 Season

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The University of Michigan women's gymnastics team had six All-America citations at the NCAA Individual Event Finals on Thursday night (April 13) at Dickies Arena.
Graduate student Abby Heiskell tied for second overall on the uneven bars with a 9.9500, while Sierra Brooks tied for fourth overall on floor exercise to earn first team honors and Naomi Morrison tied for fifth overall on the vault to earn first team honors. Heiskell also earned second team honors in the all-around and on the floor and graduate student Natalie Wojcik earned second team honors on the uneven bars. Sponsored by GK, first-team honors go to places 1-4 (including ties) in the session and second-team recognition to places 5-8 (and ties).
Wojcik closed out her iconic Michigan career with a 9.9250 on the uneven bars to place seventh in the second session and bring her career total to 21 All-America citations. Wojcik ends her career at U-M with 99 career individual titles, 21 career All-America citations, five first team All-Big Ten honors, five perfect 10s and was the 2022 AAI Award winner among countless other accolades.
Heiskell placed 13th overall on the floor and eighth in the session with a 9.9375 and 11th overall in the all-around 39.5000 as she ends her illustrious career with 12 All-America citations, was a two-time Big Ten all-around champion and a three-time first team All-Big Ten honoree.
Brooks earned a 9.9500 to tie for fourth overall on the floor to capture her seventh first team All-America citation, while Morrison earned a 9.9000 to earn her first career first team All-America citation.
