The showdown will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.
Notes
• Michigan will honor a six-person senior class prior to Friday's home finale -- Lucas Davison, Michael DeAugustino, Austin Gomez, Shane Griffith, Will Lewan and Bobby Striggow. The group has combined for 10 total All-America honors over their collegiate careers.
• Three Wolverines maintain perfect dual records: Shane Griffith (174 pounds) is 7-0, while Dylan Ragusin (133) is 5-0 and Austin Gomez (149) is 4-0 in duals. Ragusin and Gomez both maintain perfect overall records on the season.
• Ragusin is 19-0 and has earned ranked wins in each of his last three matches at 133 pounds -- and four of the last five since coming out of redshirt prior to U-M's Maryland's dual on Jan. 12. He scored four takedowns en route to a 15-6 over Ohio State's No. 12 Nic Bouzakis and, a week earlier, was named the NCAA's Wrestler of the Week after earning a pair of top-10 wins against Penn State's No. 4 Aaron Nagao (Fall 7:28, Jan. 19) and Rutgers' No. 8 Dylan Shawver (8-5, Jan. 21). Ragusin is ranked No. 4 nationally.
• Gomez is 4-0 at 149 pounds since joining the Wolverines in December as a transfer -- and after relocating to Ann Arbor last summer as a member of the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club. He has defeated ranked opponents in three of his four bouts, including a dominant 17-6 major decision against Ohio State's No. 9 Dylan D'Emilio last Friday. Gomez owns two bonus wins, including a first-period fall (1:58) against Michigan State's Braden Stauffenberg (Jan. 14). He is ranked as high as No. 5 nationally at 149 pounds.
• DeAugustino opened the OSU dual with a 16-1 technical fall over No. 24 Brendan McCrone, his third ranked win in five matches this semester. DeAugustino posted three takedowns, a reversal and a four-point near fall in that bout. It was his second bonus win over his last five bouts. He is 8-2 on the season.
• Griffith improved to 7-0 in duals with his 2-1 decision against Ohio State's No. 11 Rocco Welsh last Friday and he is 5-0 this semester since kicking off the New Year with a 4-1 overtime decision over South Dakota State's No. 4 Cade DeVos -- his best win as a Wolverine to date. Griffith fought off an SDSU single-leg attack over the final seconds of regulation then finished on one of his one about 30 seconds into the sudden-victory period. Griffith is 10-2 at 174 pounds and ranked as high as No. 3 nationally.
• The Hawkeyes are 10-0 on the season and 5-0 in Big Ten duals after defeating Illinois (36-6, Jan. 26) and Northwestern (46-0, Jan. 28) on the road last weekend. Iowa is ranked at nine weight classes, including five in the top 10, most notably No. 1 Real Woods (141 pounds) and No. 2 Jared Franek (157). Michigan trails 34-26-1 in the all-time series against Iowa dating back to 1924. Iowa has claimed the two most recent meetings, including a 33-8 loss in Iowa City last season.
