
Michigan to Welcome Stanford to Crisler Center for Home Opener, Frozen Meet

• Frozen Meet -- Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the movie "Frozen" with the opportunity to meet characters on the concourse prior to the meet. There will also be a photo booth set up on the concourse so come dressed as your favorite Frozen character.
• Student T-shirt giveaway -- The first 400 students in attendance will receive a Michigan women's gymnastics T-shirt.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 20-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team (0-3) opens its 2024 home slate Friday (Jan. 12) at 6:45 p.m. when it welcomes Stanford (0-0) to Crisler Center. The meet will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan saw a strong performance from Gabby Wilson in its first meet of the season as she posted three scores of 9.900. Wilson is tied for 10th nationally on the balance beam and in the all-around while tying for 13th on floor exercise. Sierra Brooks and Carly Bauman both earned scores of 9.900 on the uneven bars along with Wilson to lead Michigan to a 49.350 in the event and a No. 8 ranking nationally.
• The Wolverines return 11 letterwinners to the roster and add graduate transfer McCaleigh Marr and freshmen Kayli Boozer, Ava Jordan and Haylen Zabrowski.
• Brooks and Wilson along with seniors Bauman and Naomi Morrison were voted as team captains for the 2024 season. Brooks is a three-time captain, while Wilson is a captain for the second straight season and Bauman and Morrison are first-time captains.
• Head coach Bev Plocki is in her 35th season at the helm of the Michigan program. She holds the most Big Ten titles of any coach in any sport and is a two-time national coach of the year and a 13-time regional coach of the year.
• The Wolverines wrapped up a five-part series, "Michigan Made," an all-access look at the months leading up to the Wolverines' 2024 campaign. Weaving interviews with coaches and student-athletes with behind-the-scenes practice footage and a look at life outside the gym the series gives an unparalleled look into the historic program and those committed to continuing the winning legacy of Michigan women's gymnastics.
