
Michigan to Close Out 2024 Season at Wisconsin

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team (2-11-2, 1-6-1 Big Ten) concludes the 2024 season with a road game at Wisconsin (8-4-4, 4-3-3 Big Ten) on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 27) at 1 p.m. CDT at the McClimon Track/Soccer Complex. The match will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• U-M is 13-15-8 all-time against Wisconsin. The teams have not played each other since a scoreless draw on Sept. 26, 2021, and this is Michigan's first trip to Wisconsin since Oct. 3, 2019.
• Michigan has faced five teams currently ranked in this week's poll in No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 15 Penn State, No. 18 Michigan State, No. 21 Ohio State and No. 25 Xavier.
• Michigan enters the weekend tied for 13th in the Big Ten standings, with the 10 teams who have qualified for the Big Ten Tournament set. Wisconsin punched its ticket to the Big Ten Tournament after a 5-0 win over Maryland last weekend to move into 10th place.
• Michigan has 13 players who have recorded a point this season, led by Jenna Lang's 10 points on five goals. Abby Zugay, Kali Burrell and Taylor Brennan each have five points.
• Campbell Jewell scored the first goal of her career in Michigan's 2-0 win over Purdue (Oct. 20), finding the back of the net in the waning moments of the first half. She is the fourth Wolverine to score their first career goal this season, joining Sierra Sargent, Elle Ervin and Taylor Brennan.
• Avery Kalitta has started 59 consecutive games in the midfield for U-M. She started the final six games of her freshman season (2021) to kick off the streak, starting in every contest in 2022 and 2023. She is one of three Wolverines, joining Stephanie Sparkowski and Lang, to start all 17 games this season.
• Michigan is coming off a 2-0 win over Purdue to wrap the home portion of the season Sunday (Oct. 20), getting goals from Jewell and Lang for U-M's second conference victory. It was Michigan's second shutout of the season, with Sparkowski and Sophie Homan combining in goal to keep the Boilermakers off the board.
