
Nielsen Adds Six to 2025 Class

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's lacrosse head coach Hannah Nielsen announced Wednesday (Nov. 13) the signing of six student-athletes to scholarship agreements. The list includes Sofia Cangelosi, Brin Gotham, Amory Imperatore, Elizabeth Johnson, Lee Kestner and Lexi Mullahy.
The 2025 class is made up of five midfielders and one goalie.
"We are thrilled to officially welcome these six individuals into the Michigan family," said Nielsen. "Each of them brings a unique skill set and they each share the values of our program's culture. They are incredible people, hard workers and we are looking forward to having them impact our program when they join us in the fall."
Sofia Cangelosi | M | 5-6 | Sayville, N.Y. | Club: Long Island Yellow Jackets – Spallina 2025
• Prepped at Sayville High School
• Plays club lacrosse for Long Island Yellow Jackets, which ranks as the No. 1 lacrosse club program in 2025 by USA Club Lacrosse
• Helped her team to a Conference C, Suffolk County, Long Island, and New York State championship as the team went 21-0 in her junior season
• Named to the Newsday Top 100 Players list as a junior
• Selected as a USA Lacrosse Academic All-American as a junior
• Is a two-time CSE All-American Games national champion and All-Tournament team selection
• Is a two-time Suffolk County All-County and Scholar Athlete honoree
• Earned LILJ Winter League Honorable Mention as a sophomore
• Named Junior Open Player of the Game and All-Tournament First Team as a sophomore
• Earned Excelsior Games Standout Player as a sophomore
• Received NYSRC All-Star and Top Performer during her freshman season
• Awarded LIJLL Fall League Player of the Game twice as a freshman
Brin Gotham | M | 5-4 | Victor, N.Y. | Club: Monster Elite Lacrosse
• Prepped at Victor Senior High School
• Plays club lacrosse for Monster Elite Lacrosse, which was ranked inside the top 10 of best lacrosse club programs by USA Club Lacrosse
• Helped her club team win the Northeast Showcase and American Select Championship
• Led her team to three straight Section 5 Class B Sectional Championships and New York State Class B Championships
• Earned MCPSAC Second Team as a junior
• Received the Sportsmanship Award in the State Finals Tournament during her junior season
Amory Imperatore | M | 5-9 | McLean, Va. | Club: Capital Lacrosse Club
• Prepped at The Potomac School
• Plays club lacrosse for Capital Lacrosse Club, which was ranked inside the top 10 of best lacrosse club programs for three straight seasons by USA Club Lacrosse
• Helped her team to three straight ISL Semifinals
• Voted captain for both of her junior and senior seasons
• Named All-ISL, First Team All-State, USA All-American and All-Met Honorable Mention as a junior
• Led her team to two straight VISAA Semifinals as a sophomore and junior
• Received Potomac Coaches Award during her sophomore season
• Earned All-ISL and VISAA All-State Second Team as a sophomore
• Selected as Best in Class and Under Armour 150 honoree during her sophomore season
• Named All-Tournament First Team at the American Select Championship as a freshman and sophomore
