
U-M Set to Face No. 5 Seed Dayton in NCAA Second Round

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team (9-4-7, 2-3-5 Big Ten) will travel to Dayton, Ohio, to take on the No. 5 seed Dayton Flyers (13-2-3, 5-1-2 A-10) on Sunday (Nov. 24) at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field. The second-round match will be streamed on ESPN+.
Notes
• Michigan earned its first NCAA Tournament win in 12 seasons by defeating Robert Morris, 2-0, on Thursday (Nov. 21). The Wolverines own a 6-0 record when they score exactly two goals.
• Matthew Fisher scored his first career goal in the win over Robert Morris. Fisher is now the second primary defender, along with Nolan Miller, to score a goal for the Maize and Blue.
• Duilio Herrera notched his first career tally against the Colonials in the 80th minute to provide a crucial second goal for Michigan. Herrera is the 11th different goal scorer for U-M in 2024.
• Isaiah Goldson tallied four saves against RMU, upping his season total to 58. Goldson has now logged four or more saves in five of his last six starts. The sophomore is tied for second in the Big Ten in saves and leads the league with 3.87 saves per game.
• Bryce Blevins assisted on Fisher's score against RMU, bringing his season total to nine and tying Beto Soto for the team lead. Blevins joins Soto and Knox Cameron in a tie for third in assists in a single season.
• After Fisher and Herrera's tallies, 11 different players have found the back of the net this season for U-M, with six players scoring two or more goals.
• The Wolverines have scored first in 15 of 20 matches this season and are undefeated (9-0-6) when they open the scoring.
• U-M will meet Dayton for the seventh time in program history and the first time in the NCAA Tournament. The two teams last met in 2005, with the match ending in a 2-2 draw. The Flyers represent the 16th different opponent in the NCAA Tournament for Michigan.
