
Wolverines to Head to Notre Dame for Meyo Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team is set for the first road competition of 2024, heading to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 2-3). Action is set to begin at 4 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 2) and 11 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 3).
Notes
• U-M is coming off its first multi-day meet of the season when it hosted the Michigan Invitational last Friday and Saturday (Jan. 26-27), with strong performances from the distance group.
• In the 800-meter dash, Henry Johnson finished second with a season-best time of 1:49.75 and Camden Law finished fifth with a career-best time of 1:50.00.
• Nick Foster ran a season-best mile (3:58.27) and earned a second-place finish while Tom Brady set a personal best of 4:01.63 to finish sixth. Six Wolverines set personal bests in the 3,000-meter run, with Owen MacKenzie's sixth-place finish (8:06.76) leading the group.
• The throwers also had a solid day, with Aiden Felty's personal best of 17.97m (58 feet, 11.5 inches) earning him a second-place finish in the shot put and Zane Forist finishing sixth with a mark of 17.02m (55 feet, 10.25 inches).
• In the high jump, Luke Stowasser cleared a season-best 2.00m (6 feet, 6.75 inches) for a fifth-place finish. In the long jump, Berachiah Ajala finished third with a mark of 6.99m (22 feet, 11.25 inches), while Cole Sheldon cleared 4.66m (15 feet, 3.5 inches) in the pole vault to finish seventh.
• The sprinters led U-M's effort to open the meet, with Dante Bassham (6.18 seconds) and Amit Rutman (6.94) both setting career bests in the 60-meter dash preliminaries. Benny Diaz also set a personal best, running the 60-meter hurdles in 8.10 seconds to advance to the finals.
