MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team earned a 197.375-197.175 road win over No. 16 Minnesota on Saturday evening (Feb. 10) at Maturi Pavillion.
Graduate student Sierra Brooks won the all-around title with a 39.675 and had a share of the vault and balance beam titles, while Carly Bauman won a share of the uneven bars title, Naomi Morrison shared the vault title and Gabby Wilson shared the beam title.
Michigan put together three straight scores of 9.900 or higher in the first rotation, uneven bars, as Morrison started the streak with a 9.900 and Bauman tied a career-best 9.950. Brooks finished off the rotation with a 9.900 as U-M carried a 49.350-49.175 lead after one rotation.
Reyna Guggino led off the second rotation with a 9.825 on the vault before Morrison and Brooks earned their second 9.900s of the day to tie for the event title and lead the Wolverines to a 49.275 in the event. Michigan maintained its lead as it went into the third rotation with a 98.625-98.375 advantage.
Bauman started Michigan off on the floor with a 9.850 before Guggino scored a 9.875 in the three spot. Brooks was stellar in her routine earning a 9.925 to lead the Maize and Blue, while Wilson went 9.900 as U-M went into the final rotation with a 147.950-147.400 lead.
Wilson and Brooks led Michigan in the final rotation on beam with matching 9.950s, while Bauman scored a 9.900 as the Wolverines secured a 197.325-197.175 road victory over Minnesota.
Michigan travels to Toledo, Ohio, for the Elevate the Stage event where they will take on Rutgers on podium Friday (Feb. 16) at 7 p.m.
