Notes
• Michigan and Michigan State are squaring off in the second of two meetings between the in-state rivals after the Spartans got an 82-61 win in East Lansing (Jan. 27). U-M has won six of the last eight in the series. The Wolverines are looking for their sixth straight win at Crisler Center.
• Michigan's game against Michigan State will mark Alumni Day at Crisler Center. The Wolverines are expecting about 40 former Wolverines to join the team throughout the weekend for various activities and to be honored at halftime of the game. In addition, Wolverine alumna Shimmy Gray-Miller will be on the call for Big Ten Network. Gray-Miller earned four letters at Michigan (1991-94), ranking 12th all-time with 146 steals, 34th in rebounding (452) and 65th in scoring (570).
• There will be plenty of former teammates squaring off in this game, with Elissa Brett and Jocelyn Tate playing together at Bowling Green, while Taylor Williams and Lauren Ross were teammates at Western Michigan. In addition, Brett played four seasons at Bowling Green for first-year Michigan State head coach Robyn Fralick.
• Michigan is in the midst of facing the two highest-scoring offenses in the Big Ten in back-to-back games. U-M faced Iowa (92.7), who ranks No. 1, on Thursday (Feb. 15) and will square off against Michigan State's No. 2 scoring offense (85.6) in this game.
• Freshman Taylor Woodson scored a career-best 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting at No. 4 Iowa (Feb. 15), the first double-figure scoring game of her career. She finished +5 in her 11 minutes of action, also going for four rebounds and two assists. She is one of 11 different Wolverines to record a double-figure scoring game this season.
• For just the second time in program history and the first time since Nov. 13, 2016, Michigan had six double-figure scorers in a game. At No. 4 Iowa (Feb. 15), Jordan Hobbs (16), Lauren Hansen (14), Chyra Evans (13), Woodson (13), Laila Phelia (12) and Cameron Williams (10) each scored in double figures.
• Michigan hit the 80-point mark for the second straight game in its 106-89 loss at No. 4 Iowa (Feb. 15), marking the ninth time this season Michigan has scored at least 80. U-M's 89 points were the most against a Big Ten opponent this season. Michigan is now 8-1 when the Wolverines score at least 80 points.
• Hansen has fit right in during her time in the maize and blue, starting all 26 games at point guard. She is one of two Wolverines to start every game and one of two in double-figure scoring at 11.7 points per game. Hansen has scored in double figures 18 times and is second on the team in both steals (32) and assists (56). She is playing 27.7 minutes per game and shooting 43.0 percent from the floor.
• Hobbs has become a regular starter in her third year in the maize and blue, averaging a career-best 9.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. She has 255 points on the season, eclipsing last year's total of 147 points (4.9 per game). She is one of two Wolverines to start all 26 games. Hobbs is playing a career-high 27.7 minutes per game, ranking third on the team in that category and fourth in rebounding (3.9 rpg). She led six players in double figures at Iowa (Feb. 15) with 16 points for her 14th double-figure scoring game of the season. She leads U-M with 69 assists on the season.
