
No. 2 Michigan Set to Host No. 1 Maryland for Pride Game

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (11-0, 2-0 Big Ten) will host No. 1 Maryland (9-1, 2-0 Big Ten) for its Pride Game on Saturday (March 30) at 12:30 p.m. at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. The showdown will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.

• Michigan is the No. 2 ranked team in the latest edition of the IL Women/IWLCA Weekly Poll (March 25). The ranking is the highest in program history as the Wolverines are out to an 11-0 start and just two wins away from tying the its best-ever start; U-M went 13-0 to start the 2019 season. The Wolverines are one of three undefeated teams left in the nation as No. 7 Loyola (9-0) and No. 16 Yale (8-0) have not lost a contest.
• As a team, the Wolverines have defeated four ranked opponents this season, with its most recent ranked win over No. 15 Penn (March 16).
• U-M owns the No. 1 scoring defense in the country, allowing just 5.73 goals per game. Junior goalie Erin O'Grady leads the nation in goals-against average at 5.20 goals per game, while also being the national leader with a .667 save percentage and ranking 16th with 92 saves. O'Grady needs just eight saves to reach 100 single-season stops. She would become just the fifth goalie in program history to make 100 saves or more in a single season.
• Senior Lily Montemarano is tied for 23rd nationally in draw controls per game with six wins per contest. As a draw-control team, Michigan ties for ninth nationally with a .623 draw-control win percentage.
• Junior Jill Smith has scored 115 career goals and is just nine goals away from tying Kim Coughlan for the most goals (124) in U-M women's lacrosse history. Smith has a team-best 35 goals after tallying a career-high seven goals at Marquette and has added 10 assists, which ranks second for U-M. She has six games with a hat trick this season and has scored at least one goal in all but one contest.
• Junior Kaylee Dyer is six points away from reaching 100 career points and would become just the seventh Michigan player to reach the milestone. Dyer has 33 goals and seven assists for 40 total points this season. She has produced seven games with a hat trick, including back-to-back five-goal outings.
