
Foster, Brady Set Records as Wolverines Compete Across Two Sites

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team competed in two meets on Friday (March 29), at the Battle on the Bayou hosted by LSU and the Stanford Invitational hosted by Stanford.
Stanford Invitational
Peter Baracco finished seventh in section six of the 5,000-meter with a time of 14:20.84. Luke Venhuizen finished fourth in section four of the 5,000-meter with a personal-best time of 13:52.88. In section three of the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Caleb Jarema finished second with a personal-best of 8:52.09.
Tom Brady set the program record for the 10,000-meter run with a time of 28:21.89, shaving 25 seconds off his previous personal-best (28:46.83). Jack Kelke posted a time of 29:52.61 in the second section of the 10,000-meter run to finish in 37th place.Â
Battle on the Bayou
Dubem Amene ran 21.11 (4.4m/s) to place 14th in the 200-meter dash, while Jacob Koerner ran 21.52 (3.8m/s) to place 33rd. Neither time was wind legal.
U-M went 1-2-3-4 in the 1,500-meter run, with Nick Foster (3:40.36) finishing first, Trent McFarland (3:42.99) finishing second, Riley Flemington (3:43.56) finishing third, and Henry Johnson (3:34.56) finishing fourth. Flemington and Johnson both set career-bests and all four Wolverines broke the meet record. Foster's time set a new 1,500-meter run standard for the meet.
Eli Winter finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 66.77m (219-0). In the long jump, Jake Wall finished eighth with a mark of 7.28m (23-10.75).
The Wolverines will close out the weekend with day two of the Battle on the Bayou at LSU on Saturday (March 30).
