COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The University of Michigan men's golf team posted a 305 opening team tally today (Friday, April 26) to position itself 13th after the first day of the Big Ten Championships at the Scioto Country Club. U-M will be paired with Maryland for Saturday's (April 27) second round starting at 10:15 a.m.
With each tallying two birdies apiece, redshirt junior Ben Hoagland and senior Jude Kim paced U-M with an opening total of 75 on the par 70 course. Both are tied for 40th. With three birdies highlighting his first round, junior Hunter Thomson is tied for 50th after his 76.
Rounding out the Wolverines' starting five are senior Will Anderson and junior Yuqi Liu, who each carded rounds of 79, and are both tied for 64th.
