Tapper Captures Shot Put Bronze at USATF U20 Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -- Elizabeth Tapper of the University of Michigan women's track and field team represented the Wolverines and took home bronze in the shot put at the USATF U20 Championships on Wednesday and Thursday (June 12-13) at Oregon's Hayward Field.
Tapper started off strong, throwing for a mark of 16.07 meters (52 feet, 8.75 inches). Her next throw came in at 14.96m (49-1) before fouling on her next two attempts. Tapper's best came on her fifth attempt, securing a third-place finish with a mark of 16.24m (53-3.5).
With a mark better than 14.50m, Tapper qualified for the World U20 Championships in Lima, Peru from Aug. 27-31.
