ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association and Pocock Racing Shells announced All-America teams on Friday (June 7), and the University of Michigan rowing program was represented by a pair of honorees in second-team selections Zara Collisson and Katie Easton.
For both athletes, this marks their second year receiving All-America recognition (Collisson first team; Easton, second team, 2023).
Both athletes were part of U-M's first eight all season, leading the boat to a gold medal at the Big Ten Championship regatta on the way to the team title. The 1V8 went on to outperform its seed at the NCAA Championships, finishing ninth overall with the Wolverines taking seventh as a team, the program's best finish since 2021.
Now a two-time first-team CRCA All-American, Collisson is also two-time All-Big Ten performer and the 2024 Big Ten Athlete of the Year. She has been in three Big Ten gold medal-winning boats during her career (2021, 2V8; 2023-24, 1V8), helping Michigan win three Big Ten titles as a team. Also an international record-holder (U-23 world championships), she owns U-M's top erg score and was voted by her teammates as a captain for the 2024 season.
Easton has been rowing in U-M's 1V8 since the postseason of her freshman year and the Melbourne, Australia, native is now a two-time All-American. Her consistency has been a key to U-M's speed all year, leading to her third Big Ten medal with the 1V8 and her second gold (2022, silver). She has also been part of three Big Ten Championship teams at Michigan.
