The University of Michigan women's track and field team had another successful season, earning four Big Ten individual titles, five NCAA top-eight finishes and setting five program records and one Canadian national record throughout the indoor and outdoor seasons.




Individual Highlights
• The Maize and Blue earned a pair of Big Ten Indoor Champions, with Savannah Sutherland claiming the 400-meter dash title (51.67 seconds) and Aasia Laurencin claiming the 60-meter hurdles title (8.01).
• U-M took home four other medals as well. The distance medley relay team of Samantha Hastie, Sidney Green, Penelopea Gordon and Sam Tran (11:13.73) earned a silver medal, while Gordon also captured silver in the 800-meter run (2:05.34). Tran (3,000 meters, 9:19.06) and Corinne Jemison (shot put, 16.82m) picked up bronze medals at the conference championships. Jemison's mark also set a program record.
• At the NCAA Indoor Championships, Sutherland finished seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.33 while Laurencin finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.04. Laurencin became just the third Wolverine to break eight seconds in the semifinal round, running 7.99 to qualify for the finals.
• Laurencin and Sutherland defended their 2023 Big Ten Outdoor titles, as Laurencin claimed the 100-meter hurdles crown (12.90) and Sutherland won the 400-meter hurdles (55.01). Sutherland's time set the Big Ten outdoor meet record.
• Emma Yungeberg took home silver in the javelin throw with a mark of 50.89m, topping a 20-year-old program record. Jemison finished third in the discus throw with a mark of 56.90m to round out the team's medalists.
• Sixteen Wolverines qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in 17 individual events and one relay.
• Yungeberg punched a ticket to the NCAA Championships for the first time in her career, placing sixth and setting a new program standard of 51.35m. Jemison also earned an NCAA Championship berth, finishing sixth in the discus throw (56.96m).
• Laurencin and Sutherland were the next to qualify for the NCAA Championships as Laurencin finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (12.87), and Sutherland finished first in the 400-meter hurdles (55.25). Riley Ammenhauser rounded out the NCAA Championships qualifiers, finishing eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.99m.
• At the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Yungeberg set the program javelin record for the third straight meet with a mark of 52.36m. The sophomore finished in 14th place and earned second team All-America honors.
• Jemison, Laurencin and Sutherland all earned podium finishes, combining for 15 points to tie for 18th place in the team standings. Jemison finished in fifth place in the discus throw to set a new program record of 60.07m. Laurencin finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (12.86), just 0.01 seconds behind the fifth place finisher and improving upon her 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championship finish of seventh.
• Sutherland, the 2023 NCAA 400-meter hurdles champion, finished second overall in the semifinals with a personal-best time of 54.04 to set the program and Canadian national records. The senior smashed that time in the finals, finishing second (53.26) and setting the program and Canadian national records for the second time in as many days.
