ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team announced its 2024 schedule on Tuesday (July 2). The 16-match slate features 10 conference tilts and six non-conference games, including two against teams that advanced deep in the NCAA Tournament a season ago.
Under the direction of 13th-year head coach Chaka Daley, Michigan will compete against Akron and DePaul in the preseason before opening the regular season at U-M Soccer Stadium against Loyola-Chicago on Aug. 22
The season opener kicks off a five-game non-conference homestand highlighted by an Aug. 30 matchup with Oregon State, which is coming off a trip to the College Cup in 2023. Michigan will open conference play in Ann Arbor against Penn State on Sept. 13 before welcoming in new Big Ten opponent Washington on Sept. 16 to close out the initial stretch of seven home games.
The Maize and Blue will head to Los Angeles to take on new league foe UCLA on Sept. 21 and will face national runner-up Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., on Oct. 8. Michigan will make the short trek to East Lansing for the Battle for Big Bear against rival Michigan State on Oct. 22. U-M will close the regular season with a trip to Madison to face Wisconsin on Nov. 3.
Michigan will look to earn its place in the Big Ten Tournament with the quarterfinal rounds starting on Nov. 7 at campus sites.
