
Women’s Gymnastics Announces Captains for 2025 Season

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Graduate students Carly Bauman and Reyna Guggino were recently voted captains of the 2025 University of Michigan women's gymnastics team.
Bauman was voted a captain for the second straight season after she qualified for nationals on the uneven bars in the 2024 campaign. The West Des Moines, Iowa, native won three uneven bars titles and was named All-Big Ten first team for the first time in her career. Bauman notched 18 scores of 9.900 or better after competing on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise all season. She is also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, a two-time WCGA Academic All-American and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
"I am beyond excited and honored to be named a captain of Team 49. It is a privilege to lead such an incredible group of young women and collaborate with an amazing coaching staff," she said. "The team is full of talent and I am eager to see what we can achieve together this year as we strive for excellence."
Guggino was voted a team captain for the first time leading up to the 2025 season after competing on vault, beam and floor for the Wolverines in 2024. The Tampa, Fla., native notched second team All-Big Ten honors and won four vault titles with three scores of 9.900 or better. She is also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a two-time WCGA Academic All-American.
"I am incredibly grateful to be named a captain of Team 49," Guggino said. "I'm so excited for the opportunity to lead and support my teammates as well as help us achieve all of our goals."
