
Wolverines to Face No. 13 Springfield, No. 8 Army at Springfield College

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 7-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team (2-1) will remain on the road for the second straight week, heading to Springfield, Mass., to face No. 13 Springfield College and No. 8 Army on Saturday (Jan. 25) at 2 p.m.
Notes
• Freshman Aaronson Mansberger and sophomore transfer Charlie Larson made their Wolverine debuts in the 321.700-316.600 loss to Illinois at the Windy City Invitational last Saturday (Jan. 18).
• Mansberger finished second in the pommel horse with a score of 14.450, the fourth-best score in the nation and third-best in the Big Ten.
• Larson had an impressive debut on floor exercise, posting a 13.650 to finish just 0.050 points behind the first-place finisher and tie for the 10th-best score in the NCAA.
• Junior Robert Noll took his first event title of the season on the high bar (14.050), improving on week one's score by 0.650 points. His season average of 13.750 ranks fifth in the nation. Noll is one of three Wolverines ranked in the top 10 on the high bar, with Carson Eshleman (13.675) sitting at No. 6 and Pierce Wolfgang (13.475) at No. 10.
• Logan McKeown earned his second straight event title on the parallel bars with a score of 14.350, averaging 14.050 to lead the conference and tie for second in the nation. Kyle Walchuk has also cracked the top 10 on the parallel bars, coming in at No. 8 (13.700).
• Landen Blixt (14.250) is tied for eighth on floor while David Wolma is just outside the top 10 at No. 11 (14.175).
• The Maize and Blue has dominated the high bar through the first two weeks, leading the nation with an average of 53.750. The team's season-high 54.950 against Illinois is the highest event score in the nation.
• Springfield is 1-6 through its first two meets, most recently finishing second of three at the Navy Open. The team's strongest event is the high bar, ranking No. 8 in the nation with an average of 50.775.
• Army is 2-4 on the season, finishing fourth of six at the West Point Open and falling 316.900-306.500 to No. 6 Penn State. The Black Knights rank fourth on the pommel horse, with Maddox Pabellon's average of 14.050 ranking seventh in the nation.
