
Wolverines to Head to Indianapolis for Crossroads of America Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will hit the road for the Crossroads of America Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 24-25) at Fall Creek Pavillion in Indianapolis, Ind. Field events on Friday (Jan. 24) will begin at 6 p.m., while track events are set to start at 6:10 p.m. Sunday's action on the track will commence at noon, and field events are slated for 1 p.m.
Notes
• The Maize and Blue is coming off a first-place finish at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on Jan. 18, collecting 105.5 points to defeat Michigan State (102.5) and Purdue (69).
• Corey Royster finished third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.88 seconds and Amit Rutman finished fifth with a time of 7.02. Royster was just 0.09 seconds shy of tying his personal best time.
• In the 400-meter dash, Lawrence Gilliam finished second (48.27), while Nick Butler-Simpson finished fourth (48.76), both logging personal best times.
• Jonathan Miles won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:49.79, coming 0.29 seconds from tying the No. 10 time on the program performers list. The time is No. 18 in the NCAA and No. 10 in the Big Ten.
• U-M claimed the top four finishes in the mile, as Henry Johnson finished first (4:06.21), Nathan Lopez finished second (4:06.25), Peter Baracco was third (4:06.64), and Ian Hill fourth (4:07.85). Johnson, Lopez, and Baracco all saw personal bests.
• Berachiah Ajala won the triple jump (15.74 meters/51 feet, 7.75 inches) in his season debut for the Wolverines, posting the No. 13 mark in the nation and No. 2 mark in the conference.
• Graduate transfer John McNeil leaped 7.20m (23-7.5) to win the long jump, the No. 11 mark in the Big Ten.
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Gilliam, Miles Brown, Jack Juds, and John O'Reilly ran a season-best 3:09.32, the No. 19 time in the NCAA.
