
Wolverines Set to Open 2025 Season Against Marquette

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 15-ranked University of Michigan men's lacrosse team (0-0) opens its 2025 schedule on Saturday (Feb. 1) when it welcomes Marquette (0-0) to town for a 1 p.m. contest at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. The matchup will be streamed live on B1G+.

• Michigan enters the 2025 season as the No. 15 team in the USILA/Blatant Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll.
• The Wolverines bring in six transfers and 11 freshmen to help complete their 53-man roster. Michigan's transfer class includes: Pace Billings (Princeton), Dylan Bruno (RIT), Will Byrne (Bowdoin), Jackson Clay (High Point), DJ Dixon (Wesleyan) and Lukas Stanat (Princeton).
• Senior Ryan Cohen, a 2025 Big Ten Player to Watch, returns with a 47-game point streak, recording at least one point in every career game. He notched a USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-America citation after he led the 2024 Wolverines with 71 points, which included 34 goals and 37 assists. The Boca Raton, Fla., native ranked third in the Big Ten in assists per game (2.18) and points per game (4.18) in 2024 as he recorded six hat tricks and had 15 multi-point games to go along with 11 multi-goal games and 10 multi-assist contests.
• Billings also notched a USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-America citation and was named a Big Ten Player to Watch as he transferred to Michigan following his standout career at Princeton. The Denver, Colo., native is a two-time NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team selection at Princeton and was named second team All-Ivy League. Billings appeared in 43 games with 17 starts, recording 63 ground balls and 46 caused turnovers as a defender.
• Junior Hunter Taylor rounded out the trio of Big Ten Players to Watch for the Wolverines after earning the starting role in the cage for the 2024 season. Taylor carried an 11.17 goals-against average and totaled 176 saves in 2024 while producing six contests with 12 saves or more. For his efforts, the Rockville, Md., native was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team after he made 12 saves and allowed just four goals against Penn State in the championship game.
• Other Wolverines looking to make a big impact this season include senior Aidan Mulholland, Stanat and senior Kees van Wees. Mulholland played in all 17 games and started seven last season in the midfield as he recorded 18 points with three goals and 21 assists, while van Wees started 17 games with 17 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers on the defensive end of the field. Stanat comes to Michigan after he spent his undergraduate career at Princeton, where he appeared in 26 games with nine starts and had 34 points (17 goals, 17 assists).
• Head coach Kevin Conry enters his eighth season at the helm of the Michigan program and returns both Jim Rogalski and Scott Bieda as assistant coaches, while adding Jared McMahon as his third assistant for the 2025 campaign. Conry has brought the U-M program to new heights, winning back-to-back Big Ten Tournament championships in 2023 and 2024 as well as making two straight NCAA Tournament appearances and having the first All-America citations in the history of the program.
• Michigan will host eight regular season games at U-M Lacrosse Stadium in addition to playing host to the conference tournament semifinals and final in May.
• Following the game against Marquette, the Wolverines hit the road for a three-game road stretch starting with North Carolina on Feb. 8 at noon before trips to Hobart (Feb. 15) and Duke (Feb. 22).
