
Wolverines Set for Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 13-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team (0-1) will travel to Oklahoma City, Okla., for the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad on Friday (Jan. 10) at 8 p.m. CST inside the Paycom Center. The Wolverines will go up against No. 14 Arizona (3-0), Clemson (0-0) and No. 8 NC State (1-0), with the meet being broadcast live on ACC Network.
Notes
• After one week of competition, the Wolverines remain the No. 13 team in the Road to Nationals rankings and are No. 6 nationally on the balance beam with a 49.100 coming last week at Denver. Freshman Jahzara Ranger is tied for seventh in the nation on the beam with her 9.900.
• Five Wolverines made their official collegiate debuts at No. 12 Denver with four freshmen earning a spot in a lineup and sophomore Kayli Boozer competing in two events. Ranger competed in the all-around, winning her first career title with a 9.900 on the beam and putting up matching 9.800s on vault (third place) and floor exercise, while Sophia Diaz and Sophie Parenti competed in two events each and Peyton Davis earned a spot in the vault lineup.
• Michigan scored 49.100 on the beam to rank sixth nationally. Ranger earned her first career title, Boozer placed second with a 9.875 and graduate student Carly Bauman tied for third with a 9.850.
• Sophomore Ava Jordan had a solid performance to kick off her second season as a Wolverine, posting a career-high 9.825 on the uneven bars and a 9.725 on the vault.
• Head coach Bev Plocki is in her 36th season at the helm of the Michigan program. She holds the most Big Ten titles of any coach in any sport and is a two-time national coach of the year and a 13-time regional coach of the year.
• Michigan will host four regular-season meets this season, including three Big Ten Conference duals starting with Ohio State on Jan. 31. The Wolverines will also host the Big Ten Conference Championships at Crisler Center on March 21-22.
• Michigan opens its 2025 Big Ten Conference slate on Friday, Jan. 17 when it travels to Michigan State for a 6 p.m. contest at the Breslin Center. The meet will mark the first time that MSU has competed inside Breslin and it will be streamed live on B1G+.
