Wolverines to Take to Road to Face Fighting Irish

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 9-ranked University of Michigan ice hockey team (12-7-1, 6-4-0 Big Ten) keeps the conference calendar rolling as it heads to South Bend, Ind., to take on Notre Dame in a pair of games at Compton Family Arena. The teams face off on Friday (Jan. 10) at 7 p.m., and Saturday (Jan. 11) at 6 p.m. with both games to be streamed live on Peacock.

• Michigan is 12-7-1 on the season with a 6-4 Big Ten mark after splitting the opening series of 2025 last weekend against then-No. 13 Ohio State. The Wolverines dropped a 4-3 decision on Friday (Jan. 3) at Wrigley Field before rebounding with a 3-2 overtime win on Sunday (Jan. 5) at Yost Ice Arena.
• Michigan is on a seven-game series win streak against Notre Dame, including a sweep at Yost in November. The Wolverines hold a 92-70-6 record in the all-time series.
• Freshman Michael Hage leads the team in scoring with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists). His 1.23 points per game ranks him second in the nation in rookie scoring. The Montreal Canadiens draft pick was named the national Rookie of the Month in November and has points in 13 games.
• Junior T.J. Hughes reached the Century Club on Sunday, scoring his 100th point in his 100th game. Hughes went on to have a three-point game to reach 102 career points. He leads the team in assists with 12 and 18 points overall. Hughes is the 92nd Wolverine to join the Century Club and the first since Dylan Duke in 2023-24.
• Junior Jackson Hallum scored Michigan's overtime winner on Sunday against OSU, his second overtime winner this season. The Vegas Golden Knights draft pick also scored the overtime goal at Boston University. This season, Michigan is 4-0-1 in overtime games.
• The youngest player in college hockey, Will Horcoff joined the program this semester. Making his collegiate debut in the outdoor game last weekend, Horcoff scored a goal and an assist. The son of NHL player and Michigan State alum Shawn Horcoff, Will is the ninth Wolverine to make his college debut in an outdoor game, joining the eight freshmen in 2001 who played in the Cold War game at Spartan Stadium.
• Michigan has played in seven one-goal games this season and has won six. The squad is also 8-0 when it scores four or more goals.
• Michigan leads the Big Ten in penalty-killing percentage at 81 percent. U-M has the most penalty minutes in the league at 229. It will be tested against Notre Dame's ninth-ranked power play this weekend.
