Notes
• The match is sold out, marking the first time in program history that Crisler has been sold out for a volleyball match. U-M set its second, third, fourth and fifth highest attendance marks in the past two seasons. The program record remains 8,137 in attendance against Ohio State on Sept. 29, 2017.
• Michigan enters the contest with a 2-5 conference record with wins over No. 10-ranked Minnesota and a five-set win over Iowa. Three of Michigan's five losses in conference play have come to ranked teams. The Wolverines are coming off a five-set loss to Northwestern, where U-M took the second and third sets.
• In the match at Northwestern, Serena Nyambio accomplished a kill-block double-double with 14 kills and 11 blocks. The senior was the first Wolverine to reach both marks since Abby Cole did so in 2015. Over the last three matches, Nyambio has tallied 38 kills and 23 blocks, setting new career highs in blocks against Northwestern and matching her career high in kills against Iowa.
• Nyambio currently leads the Big Ten in hitting percentage and is 14th nationally with a .431 hitting percentage. She only has one match below .200 this season and three total below .300 for the season. Nyambio ranks fifth all-time in career hitting percentage with a .312 mark.
• Morgan Burke recorded her second straight double-double and second straight 50-assist match. Burke has a team-leading 472 assists this season and is second in digs with 153. The junior has recorded double-doubles in four of the five matches in which Michigan has run a 5-1 offense. She currently ranks tenth all-time in career assists and is 11 away from tying Lisa Vahi for ninth place.
• Allison Jacobs led all players with 19 kills in the match against Northwestern and added 13 digs for her second straight double-double. Jacobs was coming off a career-high 26 kills against Iowa. The graduate student ranks in the top five in the conference in multiple categories, including third in kills with 264 and fourth in points per set with a 4.85 average. Â
• Ella Demetrician was the fourth Wolverine with a double-double against the Wildcats, doing so with 15 kills and 12 digs. Demetrician saw action in just the final two sets on Saturday (Oct. 11) against Iowa, but tallied five kills on nine swings and added an ace. Demetrician is tied with Nyambio for third on the team in kills with 129, but has done so in 19 fewer sets.
• Jenna Hanes had a strong match against Northwestern as well, with nine kills and no errors on 14 swings. Hanes tallied two solo blocks in the match for the third time in her career and added a block assist. The sophomore is three kills away from 100 on an efficient .429 hitting percentage.
• Maddi Cuchran leads the Wolverines in digs this season with 216 and is second in reception percentage among players with at least 100 attempts. Cuchran has played in all but two sets over the past three seasons. She has served as the team's libero since the start of the 2024 season.Â
• Nebraska enters the weekend with a 16-0 overall record and a 6-0 conference record. The Cornhuskers have won their last 22 sets for seven straight sweeps.
