Michigan to Begin Big Ten Play on Road at Notre Dame

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan ice hockey team begins Big Ten Conference play this weekend when it travels to Notre Dame for a two-game series. The teams face off at 7 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 31) and at 6 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 1) at Compton Family Arena. Both games will stream live on Peacock.

• Entering Big Ten action with a 7-1 overall record, Michigan is ranked No. 2 nationally and has received two first-place votes.
• Michigan holds a 93-71-6 advantage in the all-time series with Notre Dame and a narrow 33-32-2 edge in South Bend. The teams split last season's series at Compton Family Arena, as the Wolverines earned a 5-3 win before falling 7-4 the following day.
• Sophomore Michael Hage leads the Wolverine offense with 14 points in eight games. He has scored six goals and added eight assists to rank third nationally in points per game. Classmate Will Horcoff leads the team with eight goals (third nationally), while Ben Robertson paces Michigan in assists with 10, the second most in the country.
• With 46 goals scored and just 12 allowed, Michigan owns the top-ranked scoring margin in the nation. The Wolverines average 5.75 goals per game (first nationally) while allowing just 1.50 per game (first nationally).
• The Wolverines' power play ranks second in the country at 40 percent. The team has converted 14 of 35 opportunities, trailing only St. Cloud State, which has scored on 14 of 33 chances.
• Freshman goaltender Jack Ivankovic has played every minute in net for the Wolverines, posting a 1.38 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage.
• Michigan ranks second nationally in offensive-zone possession time at 9:03, behind only Notre Dame at 9:12. The Wolverines lead the country in high-danger scoring chances, averaging 16.8 per game, while Notre Dame ranks ninth at 11.5 per game.
• While Michigan boasts the nation's top defense, allowing just 1.50 goals per game, Notre Dame ranks 36th nationally, surrendering 3.17 goals per game.
• Ben Robertson leads the Wolverines in average ice time at 19:17, followed by Dakoda Rhéaume-Mullen at 18:18.
