Nielsen Inducted Into Inaugural Class of Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's lacrosse head coach Hannah Nielsen has been inducted into the inaugural class of the Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame as announced by Australia Lacrosse on Saturday (Nov. 15).
The Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame was established to recognize the exceptional performance of athletes at World Championships, World Cups and National Carnivals, as well as the outstanding contributions of individuals who have driven the growth and development of lacrosse in Australia.
Nielsen has played in five World Cups, helping the team to a World Championship in 2005 at just 17 years old, representing Australia twice on the U19 team. The Adelaide, Australia, native is on the current squad and is vying for a spot on the 2026 roster for her sixth World Cup appearance in Tokyo.
She is a four-time All-World selection in her five World Cup appearances, earning the honor in 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2022, and helped Australia to silver and bronze medals to go along with its 2005 World Championship.
Most recently, Nielsen was named a co-captain and helped lead Australia to a bronze medal at the World Games this past summer in China in the Olympic sixes format. Nielsen finished the tournament with seven goals and 12 assists.
The inaugural 2025 class is comprised of 21 inductees with 17 from the modern era, three from the Hickory era and one legend.
