
U-M Sets Three Top-10 Program Times At Clemson, Boston U.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team posted three top-10 program marks on Friday (Feb. 14), competing across two sites: the Tiger Paw invitational at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.

Two Wolverines finished in the top 10 of the 800-meter run, with Miles Brown finishing sixth (1:48.00) and Brendan Herger finishing ninth (1:48.24). John O'Reilly finished 25th with a time of 1:49.68. O'Reilly and Herger's times were personal bests. Herger's time also is tied for eighth on the program performers list.
Trent McFarland finished 27th in the mile run with a personal-best time of 3:58.49, his third sub-four-minute mile and the No. 8 time on the program performers list. Camden Law also saw a personal best, finishing 40th with a time of 4:00.24.
In the 3,000-meter run, Ian Hill (8:06.09) and Akili Parekh (8:16.00) posted personal-best times to finish 103rd and 151st, respectively. Jozef Meyers finished in 131st place (8:13.31).
Heath McAllister (77th, 13:56.42), Luke Venhuizen (80th, 13:58.62), Nathan Lopez (82nd, 13:59.00), and Nolan Clark (84th, 14:00.56) all logged personal-best times in the 5,000-meter run to conclude the meet. Owen MacKenzie also ran the 5K, finishing 81st with a time of 13:58.64.

Eli Winter finished eighth in the weight throw invite section, throwing for 20.75 meters (68 feet, 1 inch) to come in at No. 6 on the program performers list. Winter's best throw of the day came on his first attempt, with his second (20.15m; 66-1.5) and sixth (20.12m; 66-0.25) attempts also coming above the 20-meter mark.
In the long jump, John McNeil (7.27m; 23-10.25) and Tianhao Wei (7.26m; 23-10) finished 15th and 16th, respectively. Wei's mark was a personal best.
Lawrence Gilliam finished 30th in the Orange section of the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.03 seconds, while Nick Butler-Simpson finished 30th in the purple section with a time of 48.38. Both set new personal bests.
U-M will close out the Tiger Paw Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 15), with field action beginning at 10 a.m. and track action starting at 1:45 p.m.
